The Dien Bien Phu victory on May 7, 1954, was a golden milestone with “56 days and nights, digging mountains, sleeping in tunnels, pouring rain, rice balls, blood mixed with mud, unflinching courage, unwearied will”, all to create “Nine years of making Dien Bien, becoming a red wreath, becoming a golden history”. The Dien Bien Phu victory has become a symbol of revolutionary heroism, the inheritance and promotion of the glorious historical tradition of thousands of years of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people. To achieve that victory, thousands of outstanding sons of the Vietnamese people sacrificed their youth and lives for the independence and freedom of the country, for the Campaign until the day of total victory.

The Martyrs' Temple at Dien Bien Phu Battlefield is located on F Hill Relic (Dien Bien Province) in the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield Historical Relic Complex, which has been ranked as a Special National Monument. The Martyrs' Temple at Dien Bien Phu Battlefield has a unique architecture, harmoniously combining historical, cultural, landscape and traditional religious elements, worthy of the victory and great sacrifices of the martyrs and compatriots across the country at Dien Bien Phu Battlefield; at the same time, it is a place to educate and foster the patriotic tradition of the Vietnamese people for present and future generations. This is a meaningful spiritual destination for people and tourists on their journey to visit the historic land of Dien Bien Phu.
