General Secretary To Lam receives leaders of several large Malaysian corporations

During his two-day visit to Malaysia on November 22 and 23, in Kuala Lumpur, General Secretary To Lam received leaders of several large Malaysian corporations in the fields of technical development, real estate and infrastructure, and multi-industry services.

The General Secretary acknowledged and highly appreciated the support and contributions of businesses in economic , investment and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Malaysia, considering this a bright spot and a factor ensuring the sustainable and substantive development of the bilateral relationship, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries.

* CEO of Gamuda Group, the region's leading real estate and infrastructure group, Mr. Lin Yun Ling reported to the General Secretary on the Group's investment situation globally and in Vietnam, emphasizing that Vietnam is the Group's favorite and promising investment destination and expressing his desire to continue expanding investment.

General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated Gamuda's practical and effective contributions to the development of urban infrastructure projects in Vietnam; emphasizing that the construction and development of a modern urban system is one of Vietnam's top priorities. The General Secretary suggested that Gamuda pay more attention to expanding investment in the fields of urban development and technology, especially in new fields, fields where Gamuda has strengths, leading in quality, infrastructure, services, integrating information technology, and artificial intelligence for management and operations.

* Mr. Francis Yeoh Sock Ping - Executive Chairman of YTL Corporation Berhad - the region's leading integrated infrastructure development group, reported to the General Secretary about the partnership with the US NVIDIA Corporation to build a large data center in the state of Johor, Malaysia; expressed confidence in the trend of clean energy development and digital transformation in Vietnam and the desire to build a data center in Vietnam.

General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the vision and technological capacity of YTL Group in grasping development trends, especially in the field of building AI infrastructure and new technology industries; he believed that YTL would be an important partner, contributing to promoting the digital transformation process and modernizing infrastructure in Vietnam. The General Secretary emphasized that Vietnam will create favorable conditions for large enterprises to invest in chip manufacturing and large data centers to seize opportunities when science and technology are developing very rapidly.

* Mr. Tony Fernandes - CEO of Capital A Group (Air Asia) expressed his desire to expand the Group's investment and business activities in Vietnam, especially in the fields of aviation connectivity, aircraft repair, tourism, financial services, etc.

General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated Capital A's strengths in terms of capital, technology, international management experience and positive contributions to promoting investment and business in the Vietnamese market. The General Secretary hoped that the Group would continue to expand its operations, meet the development needs and build a skilled workforce in Vietnam, and become an important bridge to attract more Malaysian enterprises to invest in Vietnam.

* Mr. Vincent Tan Chee Yioun - Founder and Advisor of Berjaya Corporation Berhad, reported to the General Secretary on the business situation and expressed his desire to continue investing in urban infrastructure and tourism development projects in Vietnam.

General Secretary To Lam congratulated the group on its business performance, saying that the results the group achieved in Vietnam are vivid evidence of the increasingly improving investment environment and Vietnam's great potential. The General Secretary expressed his hope that Berjaya would continue to expand its operations in Vietnam in areas of strength such as smart urban development, environmental services and clean technology.

During the meetings, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that Vietnam always values and welcomes Malaysian enterprises to invest and do business long-term in Vietnam, saying that Vietnam will continue to perfect the legal framework, improve the investment and business environment, and simplify administrative procedures to create maximum convenience for investors and enterprises to do business effectively and sustainably.

Leaders of the corporations thanked General Secretary To Lam for taking the time to meet them, highly appreciated the attractive investment and business environment with many favorable conditions, and affirmed that they will actively promote business activities in Vietnam.
