At exactly 10:00 a.m. on May 9, Moscow time (2:00 p.m. on the same day, Vietnam time), the Russian Federation solemnly held a military parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War (May 9, 1945 - May 9, 2025) at Red Square.
According to the special correspondent of VNA, at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, General Secretary To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, paid an official visit to the Russian Federation to attend the 80th anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War.
More than 20 heads of state, heads of government of countries; high-ranking delegations, and veterans from around the world were invited to attend the parade on Red Square this year.

This year's parade, for the first time, the Vietnam People's Army sent a delegation of 86 soldiers and officers to participate.
On Red Square on May 9, the red flag with a yellow star fluttered along with the flags of other participating countries such as Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)..., creating special emotions among the Vietnamese community in Russia in particular and all Vietnamese people in general.
On Red Square, the beautiful, heroic and majestic steps of the soldiers contributed to brightening the image of the country and people of Vietnam and the strength of the Vietnam People's Army and the heroic Vietnamese nation.
Vietnam's participation in the parade at Red Square contributes to affirming its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification, demonstrating Vietnam's responsibility in building and maintaining an environment of peace, stability, cooperation and development.
The presence of the Vietnam People's Army delegation at the parade on Red Square is an opportunity to enhance the image, position and mettle of the Vietnam People's Army.

Earlier on the morning of May 9 local time, at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow, General Secretary To Lam and his wife attended the welcoming ceremony for the heads of delegations attending the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, chaired by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
Immediately after the end of the parade, General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with heads of delegations from other countries and their wives, continued to attend the flower-laying ceremony at the Unknown Soldier Monument in the Aleksandrovsky Garden, next to the Kremlin wall.
"No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten" - the words inscribed on the Unknown Soldier Memorial are always illuminated by the "Eternal Flame", implying eternal gratitude to those who sacrificed for a peaceful life today and tomorrow.
