Northern Power Corporation: Power has been restored to 95.23% of customers affected by storm No. 3

On September 14, the PC Ninh Binh Shock Team along with many machines and vehicles continued their mission of supporting Quang Yen Power Company - PC Quang Ninh to overcome the severe damage to the power system after storm No. 3 to soon restore power to the people.

Specifically, regarding the 110kV power grid: The Corporation has restored 160/173 lines and 88/90 substations. Currently, only 02/90 substations in Quang Ninh and Hai Phong have not been restored, namely: Dong A Steel Substation (customer property) has been supplied with electricity to the busbar but because the customer did not use it, the station has not been energized; Cat Ba 110kV substation (all Cat Ba loads have electricity from the 35kV source from Cat Hai 110kV station).

Regarding the medium voltage grid: 1,607/1,678 lines/branches have been restored. Currently, Bac Tien Phong and Nam Tien Phong industrial parks are fixing problems with medium voltage lines, expected to supply power on September 16, 2024. Hoanh Bo industrial cluster is fixing problems with medium voltage lines, expected to supply power on September 16, 2024.

The Corporation has also restored power to 351/354 pumping stations for flood control. EVNNPC also informed that due to rising river water, flooding occurred in 17 areas, causing power outages to over 72,000 customers (489,261 affected customers have been restored).

Currently, the situation of overcoming power grid problems in the Northern provinces is still facing many difficulties because many areas have been flooded due to the impact of storm circulation, causing traffic to be cut off and isolated. Many areas, when the water temporarily receded, left behind extremely messy scenes, muddy ground, deep flooding or destroyed roads, fallen trees, making it impossible or very difficult for the Electricity industry to access.

In addition, the equipment of the Electricity industry such as poles, wires... has a very large volume. In the past, when erecting poles or pulling wires, it was necessary to mobilize forces and support equipment, but now it is mainly done by human power. Equipment and assets of customers that were destroyed by storms or submerged under water need to be replaced and repaired, which also prolongs the time... In many places, although the Electricity industry has completed the repair and restored power to people, due to flooding, it is forced to be locally interrupted to ensure electrical safety.

Bao Lac district, Cao Bang has been supplied with electricity.

To support the units that were severely affected, the units in the Corporation sent shock troops, contractors proposed by the Project Management Boards for support, and some contractors proactively mobilized by the PCs to support the PCs: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3.

Specifically: In Quang Ninh: there are 23 units with a total of 1,428 people, including: NPSC (Hung Yen, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Phu Tho, Bac Kan, Vinh Phuc, Ha Tinh branches, Consulting Company, Construction and Construction Engineering Department): 48 people, Phu Tho PC: 12 people, Vinh Phuc PC: 30 people, Nghe An PC: 30 people, Ninh Binh PC: 32 people, Ha Nam PC: 16 people, Thanh Hoa PC: 21 people, Nam Dinh PC: 30 people, Son La PC: 13 people, Northern Electricity Testing Company Limited: 23 people, Central Power Corporation: 273 people, Contractors proposed by the Project Management Boards for support and some contractors proactively mobilized by the PCs for support: 599 people. EVN Hanoi: 200 people, Army: 100 people, Ha Tu Coal Company: 20 people.

In Quang Ninh, the staff and support units worked through the night, 3 shifts, 24/7 to strive to fix the problem and restore power to the loads as soon as possible.

It is known that on the morning of September 14, 2024, more than 100 employees of EVNHANOI set out on duty to support EVNNPC in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 in Quang Ninh.

In Hai Phong: there are 8 units with a total of 409 people, including: Tuyen Quang PC 16 people, Thanh Hoa PC: 18 people, Ha Tinh PC: 26 people, Hoa Binh PC: 17 people, Bac Kan PC: 13 people, Dien Bien PC: 11 people, Northern Electricity Testing Company Limited: 9 people, Lai Chau PC: 35 people, Hai Phong PC proactively mobilized outside contractors to support: 264 people. Construction handover locations: Thuy Nguyen, Do Son, Thuy Nguyen, An Lao, Tien Lang, Vinh Bao, An Lao, Cat Hai, Duong Kinh, Kien Thuy, Thuy Nguyen, Kien An, Le Chan with tasks including handling defects of 110kV transmission lines; erecting poles, medium and low voltage transmission lines.

In Hai Duong: there are 16 units with a total of 163 people, including: PC Ha Giang: 12 people, PC Ha Tinh: 11 people; and 140 contractors from 14 units participating in support. Construction handover locations: Thanh Ha, Chi Linh, Thanh Ha, Cam Giang, Nam Sach with tasks including handling defects of 110kV transmission lines; erecting poles, medium and low voltage transmission lines.
