Summary of Hai Lang Regional Program activities and 25 years of WVI operations in Quang Tri

QTO - On September 23, the Department of Foreign Affairs of Quang Tri held a summary of the activities of the Hai Lang Regional Program and 25 years of World Vision (WVI) operating in Quang Tri.

WVI started implementing project activities/regional development programs in 2000 in Trieu Phong and Vinh Linh districts of Quang Tri province (old). Then, it continued to expand to Hai Lang, Huong Hoa, Dakrong (old) areas. After 25 years of operation, WVI, together with local partners, has brought about positive impacts and changes in health care, child protection, livelihood development, improved relationships between parents and children, between family members and the community thanks to the implementation of interventions on "Positive Discipline" and "Happy Family", "Community Development based on internal strength"...

With the great support of WVI, the Hai Lang Regional Program began operating in October 2007. Up to now, the program has built a good relationship and active cooperation with the local government and community to organize and effectively implement components on education , health, livelihood, child protection and community development. The program's intervention has contributed to improving household livelihoods, improving the quality of health and education services, reducing the rate of malnutrition in children...

Implementing the general direction of the government , authorities at all levels have had many new, accurate and quite comprehensive policies. In the coming time, WVI will continue to help the province mobilize and seek funding sources to replicate the model of programs and projects across the province. Quang Tri also committed to creating the most favorable conditions for the organization as well as closely directing the sectors and localities to implement programs and projects in the coming years more effectively.
