In his opening speech, the representative of the Central Committee of the Veterans Association emphasized the strategic importance of agriculture , farmers, and rural areas in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country; and affirmed that building new rural areas is a long-term task with no end point, aiming to improve the material and spiritual life of the people.

In particular, the seminar focused on discussing the role of war veterans in participating in new rural development, monitoring and social criticism; sharing practical experiences in localities; proposing solutions for developing smart, modern and sustainable new rural areas associated with cultural preservation, environmental protection and climate change adaptation. This is a practical activity, contributing to thoroughly grasping Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW, towards the goal of modern new rural areas in the period of 2026-2035.
