(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of March 28, the People's Committee of Hong Bang District held a meeting to assess the situation and results of the implementation of socio -economic, national defense and security tasks in the first quarter; and deploy key tasks in the second quarter of 2024. Comrade Pham Van Doan, Chairman of the District People's Committee chaired the meeting.

According to the report of the District People's Committee, in the first quarter of 2024, the socio-economic, national defense and security targets closely followed the targets and annual plans set by the District Party Committee and People's Council. The authorities and people of the entire district welcomed the Lunar New Year 2024 in a joyful, exciting and safe atmosphere. The socio-economic situation continued to be stable and developed. Total state budget revenue in March is estimated at over 73 billion VND, accumulated in 3 months is estimated at nearly 443 billion VND, equal to 29% of the plan assigned by the city and the district People's Council, up 46% over the same period. The work of taking care of policy families during Tet is fully and thoughtfully implemented with total support funding from various sources increasing by 20% over the same period. Urban management and beautification work is focused on and directed strongly, ensuring brightness, greenness, cleanliness, and beauty in accordance with the city's direction, especially the central strip and main streets are beautifully decorated, prominently serving the people to enjoy Tet.

Regarding the key tasks in the second quarter of 2024, the District People's Committee will strengthen discipline in the management and operation of budget revenue and expenditure, measures to nurture and exploit revenue sources, especially non-state tax collection; promote the role of the District Budget Loss Prevention Steering Committee and the Tax Advisory Council of wards; complete the draft Project on Night-time Economic Development and Walking Street in the District; organize to seek opinions from units according to regulations; review and evaluate the operations of traditional markets in the District, review the plan to handle the existing problems of Trai Chuoi Market and Cam Lo Market.
