The history of the Premier League has seen many outstanding strikers, but the leading scorer is still Alan Shearer - the "Top scorer" of all time with 260 goals after 14 seasons.
This is a milestone that almost no one will reach in the near future. Followed by Harry Kane with 213 goals, now leaving the league to join Bayern Munich.

Wayne Rooney with 208 goals for Everton and MU. Andy Cole, another legend at Old Trafford, is right behind with 187 goals.
Mohamed Salah – the only player currently playing in the Premier League in the top 10 – is level with Cole on goals after he opened the 2025/26 campaign with Liverpool in a 4-2 win over Bournemouth.
Salah joined Liverpool in 2017 and is the only player who can continue to improve his scoring record. He conquered the Premier League with speed, technique and rare stability.
Earlier this year, regarding the contract extension, Salah announced the possibility of leaving Liverpool.
However, he reconsidered, renewed his contract and helped Liverpool win the Premier League title - a gift for his 33rd birthday.
Averaging more than 20 goals per season in the Premier League, the Egyptian striker is closing in on 200 goals – a milestone that no one else, apart from Shearer, Kane and Rooney, has ever reached.
If he maintains his form, Salah can completely surpass this milestone in the 2025/26 season, even challenge Rooney's position and enter the top 3 of all time.
This possibility is very high. Liverpool had a historic transfer period, when blockbuster signings Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz gave Salah more opportunities to score.
The rest of the top 10 includes Sergio Aguero (184 goals), Frank Lampard (177), Thierry Henry (175), Robbie Fowler (163) and Jermain Defoe (162).
Each name has its own story: Aguero is associated with the golden era of Man City; Lampard is the best scoring midfielder in Premier League history.
Henry led Arsenal to an unbeaten season in 2003/04; Fowler became an icon at Liverpool; and Defoe became famous for his "killer" instinct despite playing for many different clubs.
In terms of efficiency alone, Henry is the most impressive with 0.68 goals/match. Kane and Aguero both reach 0.67 goals/match, better than Salah (0.62) as well as Shearer (0.59).
In addition, in the victory over Bournemouth, Salah set a new record in the Premier League : 10 goals in the opening round of the tournament. Behind him are Ronney, Shearer, Jamie Vardy and Lampard - all with 8 goals.
