Shanghai Masters 2025 semi-final schedule
October 11
Novak Djokovic - Valentin Vacherot (15h)
Daniil Medvedev - Arthur Rinderknech (6:30 p.m.)
Medvedev notched his 50th win over a Top 10 opponent, beating seventh seed De Minaur to reach the Shanghai Masters semi-finals. It was the Russian's second time this season in a semi-final at an ATP Masters 1000 event.
In a tense match that lasted 1 hour and 53 minutes, Medvedev showed his superiority over De Minaur, who was in poor form. The 29-year-old won 11 more winners than his Australian opponent (27-16), made two fewer unforced errors (25-27) and, most notably, won 15 of his 16 first-serve points in the second set.

“I was very tired. I knew that against Alex, as well as against Learner, we would have long games. I think there were three or four games, we played like that. Today was a long day, but I am satisfied with the way I performed,” Medvedev said after the match.
“I really controlled the match in the important moments, hit the ball very well and put pressure on my opponent. The second set was very tense but I found my best form at the end of the match. I am really happy with my performance,” added the Russian.
Medvedev is looking for his first title since Rome in May 2023. His next semi-final opponent will be Arthur Rinderknech. Earlier this season, Medvedev reached the semi-finals at Indian Wells but lost to Holger Rune.
The 2019 Shanghai champion has reached 50 semi-finals on hard courts, with 18 of his 20 titles coming on the surface. He had to work hard to win his 21st title in Shanghai, including a dramatic three-setter against Learner Tien in the fourth round.
As for De Minaur, he leaves Shanghai in seventh place in the ATP Live Race To Turin. The 10-time ATP champion has a 640-point lead over 10th-ranked Felix Auger-Aliassime. De Minaur leads Medvedev 8-4 in the head-to-head series, with the world No. 7 aiming to compete at the ATP Finals for the second consecutive season.
