In the fourth set, Bonzi had to ask for a temporary break to receive medical attention for an injury to his right leg. Medvedev took advantage of this opportunity to easily win and take the match to a deciding fifth set.

However, the drama continued, as Bonzi showed great character. He successfully saved 5 break points in the seventh game to take a 4-3 lead, creating a huge psychological advantage. Bonzi then completely controlled the match and won the match 6-4.
