Every January, April and July, Vien Minh Pagoda in An Binh Hamlet, An Phu Commune, Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City organizes giving gifts of necessities to people in need; the fund to buy gifts is donated by Buddhists.

Recently, at Vien Minh Pagoda, the Women's Association of An Phu Commune coordinated with the nuns of the pagoda to meet with the poor people in An Phu Commune, Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City and presented 60 gifts including rice, instant noodles and peanut oil to 60 poor people in the commune, each worth 250,000 VND.

At the presentation ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Hong Viet, Secretary of the Party Cell of An Binh Hamlet, An Phu Commune, said that she and the local government highly appreciate the precious sentiments of the pagoda and Buddhists. She sincerely thanked the representative board of Vien Minh Pagoda for mobilizing Buddhists to support the fund for charity work, and sharing timely help for people in the commune with difficult circumstances. This is a good deed for life and religion.
