Tottenham signs Andy Robertson, 'poachs' Brighton player.

Andy Robertson has agreed to join Tottenham after his contract with Liverpool expires this June.

Earlier this year, the London club attempted to sign Robertson, but the deal fell through because Liverpool couldn't find a suitable replacement.

After nine seasons with the Anfield club, Robertson had an emotional farewell last weekend in a 1-1 draw with Brentford.

Juventus were once very keen to sign the veteran Scottish full-back. However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirms that Tottenham were the winning team in this transfer saga.

Joining the North London club, Robertson brought with him an impressive record, boasting 60 assists in the Premier League.

With their first new signing secured on a free transfer, Spurs' leadership has pledged their full support to manager De Zerbi in the transfer market.

The Italian manager wants to build Tottenham in the style of his former club, Brighton. Therefore, he has recommended three transfer targets to the club's leadership: goalkeeper Verbruggen, center-back Van Hecke, and midfielder Baleba.

All three are promising players who have already established themselves in the demanding environment of the Premier League. More importantly, they fit the football philosophy of manager De Zerbi.

However, it will not be easy for Tottenham to convince their counterparts to release the player unless they agree to pay a large transfer fee.
