The crisis continues to plague Tottenham as they suffered a disappointing defeat to Crystal Palace at home in London in the late match of the 29th round of the Premier League. This result extends the North London team's winless streak to 11 games – their worst run in the Premier League era.

Crystal Palace exerted pressure right from the start of the match.
Pressure mounted on Tottenham right from the start of the match. Less than a minute after the opening whistle, goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario had to make a crucial save against a dangerous volley from Adam Wharton. The home side then avoided conceding when Ismaila Sarr's goal was disallowed due to offside in the preceding play.

Dominic Solanke (19) scored a beautiful opening goal for Tottenham.
However, Tottenham unexpectedly scored a rather spectacular opening goal. In the 34th minute, Archie Gray made a skillful dribble down the right wing before delivering an accurate cross for Dominic Solanke to finish from close range, giving the home team a 1-0 lead.

Micky van de Ven (37) received a red card, causing Tottenham to fall apart.
But that advantage quickly faded, and disaster struck the home side Spurs in an unpredictable way. In the 38th minute, center-back Micky van de Ven fouled Ismaila Sarr as the Palace striker was running towards goal. The referee did not hesitate to show the Dutch player a direct red card and award the visitors a penalty. From the penalty spot, Ismaila Sarr calmly beat goalkeeper Vicario to equalize 1-1.

Playing with ten men, Tottenham couldn't withstand the tremendous pressure from Palace towards the end of the first half. In the 45th minute plus one, Adam Wharton delivered a sublime pass to Jørgen Strand Larsen, who broke free and fired a shot through Vicario's legs, putting the visitors ahead 2-1.

Just six minutes later, Wharton delivered another precise pass to Ismaila Sarr, who controlled the ball and skillfully flicked it past the Tottenham goalkeeper, completing his brace and extending Palace's lead to 3-1.
In the second half, Tottenham tried to fight back despite playing with 10 men. Dominic Solanke had a chance to reduce the deficit, but his shot was saved by goalkeeper Dean Henderson's foot. However, the home team could not create any further opportunities and had to accept defeat.

Adam Wharton (20) created opportunities for Larsen and Ismaila Sarr to score.
Having lost their third consecutive match under new manager Igor Tudor, Tottenham haven't even managed a single Premier League win since the start of 2026. The gap between the North London club and the relegation zone is now just one point, and for the first time in years, the prospect of Tottenham being relegated – something that hasn't happened since 1977 – is being seriously considered.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace continues to maintain consistent form, keeping a safe position in the middle of the league table.
