Tottenham's 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest in the 32nd round of the Premier League helped them return to the Top 4 after two months.
The turning point of the match came in the 53rd minute, when center-back Micky van de Ven scored a spectacular goal to give the home side a 2-1 lead. From a pass by captain Son Heung-min, the Dutch defender unleashed a powerful shot from about 10 meters out, sending the ball just wide of the high post, leaving goalkeeper Matz Sels rooted to the spot as the ball flew into the net.

Just five minutes after Van de Ven's goal, Tottenham secured the victory with a third. From a cross by James Maddison on the left, Rodrigo Bentancur headed wide but the ball landed perfectly for Pedro Porro on the right. The Spanish defender curled a beautiful one-touch shot into the far corner, giving the visiting goalkeeper no chance to save it.
Tottenham's victory was marked by defensive brilliance, not to mention their first goal was an own goal by center-back Murillo. Ange Postecoglou's side have reached 60 points this season, equaling their total from the entire previous season. They still have seven games left this season, starting with an away trip to St James Park to face Newcastle.
Tottenham also returned to the Top 4 after a matchday, for the first time since February 2024. Their form is significantly better than their rivals Aston Villa. In the last five rounds, Tottenham earned 10 points, double that of their rivals. The gap between them and sixth-placed Man Utd has also widened to 11 points. Therefore, if the Premier League has five Champions League spots this season, Tottenham can practically guarantee one.
