Di An City: People actively classify waste at source

The program of waste sorting at source combined with the implementation of the “No-trash-bin street” in Di An City will start from November 2024. In particular, the combined waste sorting area “No-trash-bin street” will be deployed at the Di An City Administrative Center and 8 key routes: Nguyen An Ninh, Nguyen Tri Phuong, Tran Hung Dao, Binh Thung, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Le Hong Phong, DT743A and DT743C. The area implementing waste sorting at source includes 1,800 households in the Song Than Urban - Commercial - Service Area, the Railway Housing Area, the Biconsi Residential Area, 100 State administrative units, 46 public schools, more than 240 private schools, 26 apartment buildings with more than 20,000 households.

Up to now, on 100% of the streets in the Administrative Center of Di An City, people no longer leave trash bins on the sidewalk and classify garbage according to regulations. On 8 streets, solid waste is classified at source, with a correct classification rate of 20-30%; for Song Than Urban - Commercial - Service Area, Railway Housing Area, Biconsi Residential Area, 100% of households have classified solid waste at source according to instructions; 100% of schools classify solid waste at source.
