Ho Chi Minh City directs against widespread and wasteful organization of high school graduation exam review sessions

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires high schools to organize high school graduation exam review for 12th grade students as follows:

Professional groups and teachers teaching high school graduation exams need to review and classify students' levels to propose appropriate class and teacher placement plans; and help 12th grade students get familiar with the high school graduation exam format of the Ministry of Education and Training.

In particular, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training noted that high schools should only organize review and training for students who need to review for entrance exams and high school graduation exams; do not organize review sessions indiscriminately, for the wrong subjects, ineffectively, causing waste;

During the teaching and review process, teachers need to focus on helping students understand and apply knowledge to do well on the high school graduation exam.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training also recommends that teachers should combine guiding students to self-study and self-review; create conditions for students to study in groups; good and excellent students will be given additional support, helping students who are still having difficulties in studying to supplement basic knowledge and skills according to the requirements of the high school graduation exam.

In addition, homeroom teachers and subject teachers need to have solutions to coordinate with parents to help students arrange reasonable review time; have appropriate nutrition, rest, physical exercise and sports to help students have good health during the review period and take part in exams.

"The school creates conditions for classrooms and review rooms; opens the school library and assigns teachers to support students who are having difficulties in reviewing before the high school graduation exam" - the document clearly states.

The first year of high school graduation exam under the new program

It is known that this year is the first year that 12th grade students nationwide will take the high school graduation exam according to the 2018 general education program. Therefore, the graduation exam regulations as well as the way the exam questions are made have many new points.
