On the afternoon of April 17, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City announced the enrollment quota for grade 10 of 113 public high schools. Specifically as follows:
This year, Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School has not been assigned a 10th grade enrollment target because the school separation project has not been completed.
There are 3 schools that enroll more than 1,000 students: Marie Curie, Hung Vuong, and Mac Dinh Chi.
The schools with the fewest students are Vietnam - Finland International School, Vietnam - Australia International School, Thanh An Secondary and High School, all with less than 100 students.
Compared to last year, the total number of 10th graders in Ho Chi Minh City decreased by nearly 6,200. The two schools with the biggest decrease were Luong Van Can High School and Binh Chieu High School, each school decreased by more than 200 students.
This year's 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City took place on June 6 and 7. Candidates for the 10th grade exam usually take 3 subjects: Literature, Math and Foreign Language.
Candidates taking the 10th grade specialized exam in addition to the above 3 subjects will take an additional specialized subject exam.
Registration for grade 10 admission to public schools and specialized schools will be online.
The new point of this year's 10th grade entrance exam is the combination of two methods: entrance exam and selection. Entrance exam for candidates who graduated from junior high school in Ho Chi Minh City and wish to enroll in high schools in the city. Selection for candidates who graduated from junior high school in Thanh An island commune, Can Gio district.
This year, Ho Chi Minh City has about 116,296 students graduating from secondary school. Thus, there will be more than 45,000 students without a place in public schools.
