Ho Chi Minh City increases Tet holiday for students to 11 days

Accordingly, on December 12, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee approved the proposal of the City Department of Education and Training to adjust the Lunar New Year holiday schedule for preschool, general education and continuing education in the area from January 23, 2025 (December 24) to February 2, 2025 (January 5).

Previously, the Tet holiday schedule for students in Ho Chi Minh City according to the 2024-2025 school year plan lasted 9 days, from January 25 to February 2, 2025 (December 26 to January 5). This period coincided with the holiday schedule for workers.

However, some parents said that the Tet holiday was shorter than previous years, making it inconvenient for families who wanted to go home or travel. In previous years, students had 12-16 days off.

Therefore, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has proposed to increase the Tet holiday time, but still ensure the school year plan.
