Ho Chi Minh City welcomes Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith

Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith and his wife step down from the plane, starting their visit to Ho Chi Minh City.

At Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Vietnamese and Lao students, youth union members and children waved the flags of the two countries to welcome the high-ranking delegation of the Lao Party and State in a joyful atmosphere.

Arriving at Tan Son Nhat airport early, students from Vietnam and Laos were ready to welcome the arrival of General Secretary andPresident of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith.

Welcoming the high-ranking delegation of the Lao Party and State were Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen, along with leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

On the afternoon of September 12, General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, his wife Naly Sisoulith and a high-ranking delegation of the Lao Party and State arrived in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, chaired the reception for the General Secretary and President of Laos and his wife at Tan Son Nhat Airport.

The visit of Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith not only affirms the deep diplomatic relationship between the two countries but also demonstrates the continuous development of Vietnam - Laos solidarity.

Ho Chi Minh City, as the leading economic, cultural and political center of Vietnam, always plays an important role in the cooperative relationship between the two countries, contributing to promoting cooperation in many fields.

The motorcade escorting Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith arrived at REX Hotel (District 1), welcomed by Ho Chi Minh City youth.

During his visit and working session in Ho Chi Minh City, Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith will visit the historical site of Ben Nha Rong, a sacred symbol associated with President Ho Chi Minh's journey to find a way to save the country.

As planned, Mrs. Naly Sisoulith will attend the launching ceremony to support people affected by storm No. 3 (storm Yagi). The event was organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of September 12.

Afterwards, General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith met and discussed with former President Nguyen Minh Triet and former President Truong Tan Sang at Guest House T78.

During the visit, Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith also had a meeting with Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen at Thong Nhat Hall on the evening of September 12.
