Continue to promote multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and GCC

On the morning of October 17, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang had a phone call with Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi.

During the phone call, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang highly appreciated the role and contributions of the GCC Secretary General in promoting cooperation between the GCC and its partners and thanked the Secretary General for his good feelings towards Vietnam.

The GCC Secretary General congratulated Vietnam on its growing position and its outstanding socio -economic development achievements; expressed his impression of the honor of meeting the Prime Minister and affirmed that the Secretary General personally and the GCC in general attach importance to the relationship with Vietnam, considering Vietnam as one of the priority partners to promote relations in the coming time.

The two sides were pleased to note that the Vietnam-GCC relationship has made many positive developments, especially after Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh 's visit to the GCC countries and the recent visits of GCC leaders to Vietnam.

In that spirit, the two sides expressed their desire to continue promoting multifaceted cooperation, especially accelerating the process of launching negotiations on the Vietnam - GCC Free Trade Agreement, trade, investment, science and technology cooperation, and enhancing GCC - ASEAN connectivity, in which Vietnam is ready to play a bridging role, contributing to deepening relations between the two regions.

The GCC Secretary General affirmed his readiness to support Vietnam in developing the Halal ecosystem; encourage GCC businesses and investment funds to explore opportunities in Vietnam and create conditions for Vietnamese businesses to expand their presence in the GCC market.

The two sides agreed to maintain regular exchanges at all levels and closely coordinate to concretize the above-mentioned priority cooperation areas, for the benefit of Vietnam, the GCC and the common prosperity of the two regions.
