| Mr. Ngo Quang Anh, Head of the Training and Development Department for Foreign Affairs Officials at the Diplomatic Academy, shared his insights at the course. |
Compared to previous courses, this program covers several new and important topics in international interpreting, such as gender equality, vulnerable groups, climate change mitigation, culture, and cooperative relations between Vietnam, Laos, and Australia…
In addition to officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the training program is open to officials from other ministries and agencies involved in international cooperation in Laos. Besides instructors with specialized training in interpreting and holding international interpreting training certificates from the Diplomatic Academy, the program also includes experts from Flinders University, Australia.
The instructors were selected by the Australian side from a pool of lecturers who had previously participated in translation and interpretation training courses organized by Australia in Vietnam.
The post-course survey results showed that 100% of Lao participants highly appreciated the quality, content, and teaching methods of the course, especially its practicality and applicability to their work. The Lao Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA) assessed this year's program as well-organized, professional, and well-coordinated between Vietnamese and Australian lecturers. They proposed that subsequent courses be held alternately in Laos, Vietnam, and Australia, thereby strengthening exchanges and sharing of experiences among the three countries.
The success of the course not only contributes to strengthening the capacity of Lao officials but also enhances the capacity and prestige of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in international cooperation on training foreign affairs officials, while promoting exchange, cooperation, and mutual understanding among the three countries.
