According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, today (October 9) and the next few days, the Southern region will experience a day with typical weather patterns: Intermittent sunshine during the day, widespread showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, with the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in some places.

However, from noon to afternoon, the low pressure trough tends to become stronger, combined with the wind convergence zone moving inland, causing thunderstorms. People need to be on guard against dangerous weather phenomena that accompany thunderstorms such as tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

The weather in Ho Chi Minh City is cloudy, with intermittent sunshine during the day. There will be widespread showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, with heavy rain in some places. The highest temperature during the day ranges from 32.5 to 35.2 degrees Celsius and the lowest at night is 24.7 to 25.2 degrees Celsius. At Tan Son Nhat Airport, the highest temperature is 33 degrees Celsius and the lowest is 25 degrees Celsius. Humidity ranges from 59% to 100%.

Weather in the Eastern provinces ( Dong Nai , Tay Ninh) daytime temperatures increase slightly in some places. The highest temperature commonly ranges from 31.5 - 35.5 degrees Celsius, the lowest from 22.6 - 24.2 degrees Celsius.

In the Western provinces (Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Ca Mau, An Giang ), the temperature tends to decrease slightly. The highest temperature ranges from 31 - 33.3 degrees Celsius, the lowest from 23.5 - 26 degrees Celsius.

It is forecasted that in the next 2-3 days, the low pressure trough will continue to operate in the Southern region. Therefore, the main weather pattern will still be intermittent sunshine during the day, with showers and thunderstorms continuing in many places in the afternoon and evening, with heavy rain in some places.

People need to continue to be vigilant for tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind that can occur during thunderstorms.
