On October 9, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City to hold a press conference to provide information on socio -economic issues in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Bao Cuong, Head of the Department of Labor, Wages and Social Insurance, Department of Home Affairs, said that regarding the minimum wage expected to be applied from January 1, 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation has proposed to adjust the minimum wage zoning for the communes: Kim Long, Chau Duc, Ngai Giao, Nghia Thanh, Long Hai, Long Dien and Con Dao special zone. The above proposal of the City Labor Federation has been agreed by the People's Committee of the above communes, wards and special zones to submit to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for consideration.

The above-mentioned adjustment of minimum wage zoning for communes, wards and Con Dao special zone in Ho Chi Minh City is a positive policy, contributing to ensuring fairness and being more suitable to the socio-economic development conditions of each locality.

“This adjustment helps to more accurately reflect the living standards, living costs and working conditions of people, especially in island areas far from the mainland such as Con Dao special economic zone - where prices of goods, services and living costs are often higher than on the mainland,” Mr. Nguyen Bao Cuong explained.

In addition, adjusting the minimum wage zoning not only helps increase income and improve workers' lives, but also encourages businesses to attract and retain skilled workers, contributing to stabilizing labor relations and promoting sustainable local socio-economic development.

In order to effectively implement the regulations on minimum wages and closely follow the reality of life, the Department of Home Affairs and the units unanimously proposed that the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City recommend the Ministry of Home Affairs to submit to the Government to soon issue a Decree on minimum wages in 2026. In which, the minimum wage zoning from region III to region II will be adjusted for the communes: Kim Long, Chau Duc, Ngai Giao, Nghia Thanh, Long Hai, Long Dien and Con Dao special zone in Ho Chi Minh City.
