Ho Chi Minh City issues guidelines for supplementary enrollment in public high schools (Grade 10).

Việt NamViệt Nam19/07/2024

Accordingly, public high schools are allowed to recruit additional students if they have not yet reached the actual enrollment quota assigned to them.

The conditions for participating in the supplementary admissions are that students who have not been admitted to any of their preferred public high schools must have entrance exam scores in 3 subjects: Mathematics + Literature + Foreign Language + priority points (if any) greater than or equal to the cutoff score for their third choice of school.

Specifically for students who have studied at junior high schools in the following areas: Can Gio, Nha Be, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, and Thu Duc City, if they register for schools in the same area as their junior high school, their total entrance exam score will be considered based on the cutoff score of their first choice at the public high school they wish to apply to.

Thu Duc City is divided into 3 zones, of which Zone 1 includes schools from the former District 2, Zone 2 includes schools from the former District 9, and Zone 3 includes schools from the former Thu Duc District.

Each student is only allowed to register for supplementary admission to one public high school that has not yet filled its assigned enrollment quota and cannot change schools after submitting the supplementary admission registration application.

The Department of Education will announce the list and quotas for additional 10th-grade classes at high schools before 5 PM on July 21st. Applicants need to submit their applications directly to the high school from July 22nd to 27th. Schools will select students from highest to lowest scores until all positions are filled, and the list of successful candidates will be announced on August 6th.
