Flying a seaplane to see the whole view of Ha Long Bay ( Quang Ninh ) from above is one of the interesting experiences that has attracted a large number of tourists in recent years.

Seaplane sightseeing services in Ha Long Bay have been exploited for tourism in Vietnam since 2014, initially mainly serving international visitors. However, in recent years, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, more and more Vietnamese tourists are curious and excited to experience the panoramic view of the world natural heritage from above.

Each seaplane can carry up to 12 passengers depending on their weight, with a maximum payload of 800kg. Currently, a seaplane tour that takes visitors to see Ha Long Bay for 25 minutes costs 2 million VND/trip.

Upon arrival at Tuan Chau port, visitors must check in for their flight, have their weight measured, and provide their ID card. Then, an electric car will take them from the waiting room to the departure point.

Here, visitors continue to undergo security checks before boarding the seaplane. During this time, visitors can take the opportunity to take check-in photos with the seaplane and crew.

After settling in, the seaplane will move down to the water for takeoff. The 25-minute scenic flight will take visitors around Ha Long Bay, admiring the panoramic view of the world's natural wonder from above.

The Cessna Grand Caravan 208B-EX seaplane hovers at low altitude with a stable flight path. From above, visitors will see nearly 2,000 large and small limestone islands undulating on the characteristic turquoise water of Ha Long Bay. Along with that is the Cat Ba island area, the fishing area, large and small boats bobbing on the sea and a part of the city scene in the distance.

Ms. Phan Thi Thuy, a tourist from Hanoi who experienced a seaplane flight to see the scenery of Ha Long Bay, shared: "I have taken many cruises to explore Ha Long Bay, but this is the first time I have used the seaplane flight service to see the scenery from above. In just over 20 minutes of flying in the sky, I can admire the entire world natural heritage perfectly, bringing a truly new and unforgettable experience."

In addition, Ms. Thuy said that during the flight, there was noise from the engine and a little bumpiness, passengers could get seasick. However, this did not affect the whole experience of the journey too much. In addition, tourists can choose to fly in the afternoon to watch the sunset in Ha Long Bay from the perspective of the seaplane.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Loc - Sales Director of Hai Au Airlines said: "In the past 10 years, we have attracted more than 100,000 passengers with more than 10,000 flights, with passengers from more than 50 different countries around the world. The majority of tourists, especially international visitors, have given positive feedback, rating this as one of the most impressive sightseeing flights from above that they have ever experienced."

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Loc informed that more than 70% of the customers that the business serves are foreign tourists. However, nowadays, the number of Vietnamese customers who want to learn and experience the service is increasing, catching up with the trend of experiencing high-class, private, and different travel experiences that are not available everywhere.

In 2023, the airline will launch its first flight from Tuan Chau to Co To Island. It is expected that this year, the airline will continue to open a new flight route to Quan Lan Island, serving a new route from Ha Long to beautiful islands in Quang Ninh, combining with picking up and dropping off guests at 5-star resorts that are about to open on the island.
