Tran Quyet Chien advances to the next round?

On the first day of competition (September 25) of the group stage of the 2024 World Championship taking place in Phan Thiet City ( Binh Thuan ), Vietnamese players performed quite successfully. Vietnam's No. 1 player Tran Quyet Chien defeated Daniel Morales (Colombia) with a score of 40-30. Meanwhile, defending champion Bao Phuong also had no difficulty in defeating Takao Miyashita (Japan) 40-33.

The victories in the opening matches helped Tran Quyet Chien and Bao Phuong Vinh stand very close to the ticket to the round of 32. Today (September 26), the Vietnamese players will enter the decisive match in the group stage. Tran Quyet Chien will face Kokkoris (Greece, ranked 67th in the world ) at 2:00 p.m. Bao Phuong Vinh will also meet Awwad Naser (Jordan) at 2:00 p.m.

Tran Quyet Chien had a smooth start at the 2024 World Championship

The internal Vietnamese competition between Tran Thanh Luc and Le Thanh Tien in Group N on September 25 ended with Thanh Luc winning. Today (September 26), Thanh Luc meets Tolgahan Kiraz (Türkiye) at 12:00, while Thanh Tien faces Kiraz at 20:00.

In Group P, Nguyen Van Tai (ranked 594) caused a surprise when he defeated Berkay Karakurt (ranked 16th in the world). Van Tai will continue to face another strong opponent from Greece, Nikos Polychro (ranked 15th in the world) at 12 o'clock.

In the late match on September 25, the champion of the Ho Chi Minh City 3-cushion carom billiards World Cup (May 2024) Tran Duc Minh also had an impressive debut, defeating strong player Martin Horn (German, ranked 6th in the world) with a score difference of 40-17. Today (September 26), Duc Minh will face Ronny Lidemann (Germany) at 4:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, Chiem Hong Thai has finished 2 group stage matches (won Orak Turgay, lost to Jaspers) on September 25 and has a fairly high average score of 2.081 (points/turn). Group B still has one more match (between Jaspers and Orak Turgay), but with such good scores, Hong Thai is likely to have a place in the round of 32.
