Controversy over the "imposing" wooden seats in the theater: How much do 526 tables and chairs cost?

Regarding the controversial opinions of many people about the image of wooden seats in the Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Theater (Bac Ninh province), according to the investigation of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, the total budget for this item is 6.3 billion VND.

Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Theater is located in Bac Ninh City, covering an area of 19,400 m2, started construction in September 2016, completed in 2020, with a total investment of over 240 billion VND. The project investor is the Bac Ninh Urban Development Area Management Board.

The Bac Ninh Urban Development Area Management Board said the total investment of the project is over 241 billion VND with many items from the state budget.

Regarding the interior items, all products used are from Dong Ky craft village (Bac Ninh province). All seats in the audience room in the Quan Ho folk theater are made of red wood imported from South Africa.

The total budget for this item is 6.3 billion VND with 341 chairs (including 18 large chairs and 323 small chairs), 185 tables (including 176 small tables and 9 large tables).

Many people think that using all large, "imposing" wooden chairs like that is not suitable for the design style of today's theaters, is costly, those rows of seats are expensive, "do not look suitable for the theater space"... However, many people think that these rows of seats are suitable for the space to listen to Quan Ho.
