This year, the “Vietnam Great Tree Nurturing Plan” scholarship awarded 360 scholarships to Quang Nam students, each worth 1 million VND. The entire amount of 360 million VND was sponsored by Cathay United Bank.
At the scholarship awarding ceremony, in addition to the scholarship from Cathay United Bank, 100 secondary school students from the three localities of Tam Ky, Nui Thanh, and Phu Ninh were also awarded 1 million VND each by Cathay Vietnam Life Insurance Company. The remaining scholarships will continue to be awarded to the localities in the coming time.

Mr. Lu Wei Chieh said that in 20 years of operation in Vietnam, Cathay United Bank Ho Chi Minh City branch has implemented the scholarship program "Vietnam Great Tree Nurturing Plan" for 17 years, sponsoring scholarships for 22,000 students across Vietnam with a total amount of up to 130 billion VND.
“Coming to Quang Nam province, we would like to sincerely thank the province for its attention to bringing this program to students in need. Hopefully, this scholarship will help them have better conditions in studying, realizing their dream of becoming talented people of Vietnam,” said Mr. Lu Wei Chieh.
According to Mr. Tran Van Can - Chairman of the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education, Quang Nam is still a poor province, the learning conditions of many students, especially in mountainous areas, are still facing many difficulties and shortages. Therefore, the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education and all levels of associations for promotion of education in the province always strive to mobilize businesses, philanthropists, organizations, agencies and units to join hands to support and help poor students, creating favorable conditions for them to continue going to school.
For many years, Cathay United Bank, Ho Chi Minh City branch, has accompanied the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education to award scholarships for the “Vietnam Great Tree Nurturing Plan”. These are very valuable and meaningful gifts, contributing to sharing difficulties and encouraging poor students in the province to study with peace of mind.

Student Nguyen Ngoc Le Giang (Chu Van An Secondary School - Tam Ky) expressed her gratitude for the sponsor's attention, the Provincial Association for Promoting Education, which helped her have more conditions to continue going to school. This is not only a material gift but also has great spiritual significance, helping her to be more confident in studying to realize her dream in the future.
