On the afternoon of October 13, the Ho Chi Minh City Delegation led by Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung visited and presented a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the City People's Committee to director Bui Thac Chuyen.

At the private home of director Bui Thac Chuyen's family, People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the City Department of Culture and Sports, said that since the film "Tunnels - Sun in the Dark" was released on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the film has received a warm welcome from audiences across the country and has been highly appreciated by experts.

At the same time, city leaders have directed relevant departments and branches to closely coordinate with the film crew, producers, and distributors so that the film can be widely spread to the public.

During the visit, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Chairman of the City People's Committee to director Bui Thac Chuyen, producer, director, and screenwriter of the film "Tunnels - Sun in the Dark" for his outstanding achievements in literary and artistic activities on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

On behalf of the film crew "Tunnels - Sun in the Dark", director Bui Thac Chuyen emotionally said that this is a recognition from the city, not only for him personally but also for the entire film crew who put a lot of effort into making the film "Tunnels" that was well received by the public.

Director Bui Thac Chuyen thanked the city leaders for their great attention to the film crew. It was this attention that helped the film crew overcome many difficulties to complete the work on the theme of revolutionary history.

At the program Meeting of outstanding artists, reporters and editors in the beginning of the year of At Ty 2025 organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, director Bui Thac Chuyen said that many years ago, he went to Cu Chi and realized that he had just discovered a "gold mine". "The more I learn about Cu Chi tunnels, the more proud I am of the history of the nation", director Bui Thac Chuyen shared.

He believes that the film would not be complete without the support of the audience, especially the young audience. Director Bui Thac Chuyen believes that historical films about the heroic resistance war, as well as the noble sacrifices of the previous generation, still have great value in the lives of today's youth.
