
The program is organized by the Vietnam Farmers' Union to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers' Union (October 14, 1930 - October 14, 2025).
Also attending the ceremony were Party Central Committee members: Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan; leaders of central ministries and branches, the Vietnam Farmers' Union and many outstanding farmers.
The ceremony to honor and award the title of Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer and Farmer Scientist aims to honor and award the title to the most outstanding Vietnamese farmers in the fields and farms, in the emulation movement to build new rural areas and protect national security.
Outstanding Vietnamese farmers and scientists of farmers who are honored are all examples of dynamic and creative farmers in economic development; daring to think and act, exploiting and using effectively capital, labor and land resources, boldly applying science and technology to production. They are truly beautiful symbols, representing millions of farmers across the country who are day and night producing, doing business, and being creative in the process of developing the agricultural and rural economy and building new rural areas; are scientists with initiatives and research works that contribute to bringing many changes to farmers; helping agricultural production to be effective and sustainable.
According to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union: The decision to confer the title to both outstanding farmers and farmers' scientists has profound meaning, demonstrating the close, dialectical, and mutual connection between scientists and farmers; of great significance in the context of the Politburo's recent issuance of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation.
At the ceremony, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union honored and awarded the title of Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer to 63 outstanding individuals and honored 32 farmer scientists in 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Luong Cuong emphasized that throughout the 95 years of construction, development and growth, under the leadership and direction of beloved Uncle Ho and the Communist Party of Vietnam, the "Red Farmers' Association" now the Vietnam Farmers' Association has continuously grown, becoming a large socio-political organization, representing the will, aspirations, and legitimate and legal rights of the peasant class.
The President affirmed that in the context of facing many difficulties, challenges, climate change, natural disasters, epidemics, unpredictable impacts of the global market, over the past years, Vietnam's agricultural sector has still steadfastly risen, achieving extremely impressive achievements. To achieve these results, there are contributions, efforts, and continuous creativity of millions of farming households and the effective accompaniment and support of a team of scientists. Among them, 63 outstanding farmers representing more than 3.6 million good farmers and businessmen in the country and 32 "farmer scientists" honored at the ceremony are the most typical and outstanding representatives of the results of tireless, tireless work, strongly inspiring the aspirations and motivation to live and contribute to the country and the community of the Vietnamese people on the path to building a prosperous, civilized, and happy country.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the President highly appreciated, congratulated and commended the efforts, endeavors and important contributions of outstanding farmers and "farmer scientists" in the cause of national construction and innovation; welcomed and commended the Vietnam Farmers' Association for its practical initiatives, proactive coordination with ministries and branches to organize the "Pride of Vietnamese Farmers" Program, organize the Ceremony to honor and award the title "Outstanding Vietnamese Farmers" over the past 13 years, to recognize, encourage and promote exemplary advanced farmers, good people, good deeds in the patriotic emulation movement, agricultural development, new rural construction and national defense.

Pointing out the context of the world situation continuing to change in a complex and unpredictable manner; domestically, besides opportunities and very favorable conditions, there are still many difficulties and challenges; to realize the two 100-year strategic goals, agriculture, farmers and rural areas play a very important role, the President requested that Farmers' Associations at all levels continue to perform well their role of representing the legitimate and legal rights and interests of members and farmers; effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on agriculture, farmers and rural areas.
Along with that, continue to successfully carry out the revolution of reorganizing the apparatus in the direction of streamlining, efficiency, effectiveness, closeness to the people; strongly innovate the method of operation to build a strong association in politics, ideology and organization, meeting the increasingly high requirements of the new development stage; strengthen social supervision and criticism, contribute ideas to Party and government building, regularly dialogue, listen to farmers' opinions, promote and expand the initiative "Listen to farmers speak".

The Farmers' Association also needs to promote emulation movements associated with new rural construction, especially the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty", attracting a large number of members, farmers from all regions, all ethnic groups, especially remote areas, and areas with many difficulties to participate; together build modern rural areas with synchronous socio-economic infrastructure; green, clean and beautiful environment; healthy and rich cultural life, imbued with national identity; political security, order and social safety are guaranteed, so that farmers in rural areas can have a better life.
The President suggested continuing to arouse and strongly promote patriotism, self-confidence, self-reliance, self-control, and the desire to become rich legitimately. Farmers must truly be the subject and center in developing agriculture, the rural economy, and building new rural areas. The Farmers' Association must pay special attention to the task of building the peasant class, consolidating a strong worker-farmer-intellectual alliance under the leadership of the Party and consider it a matter of principle and a foundation in the cause of "Great National Unity".
Farmers' Associations at all levels must have high determination, good measures, and close coordination with intellectuals and scientists to support and help farmers improve the quality of agricultural commodity production chains; at the same time, promote innovation, digital transformation in agriculture, protect the ecological environment; proactively integrate internationally and preserve national cultural identity.

The President hopes that the “outstanding Vietnamese farmers” and “farmer scientists” honored today will continue to write and spread inspirational stories; continue to contribute, maintain creative ways of doing things, and unite and help each other to become rich for themselves, their families and the country, and follow the teachings of beloved Uncle Ho: “Make sure the poor have enough to eat, those who have enough to eat are well-off and rich; those who are well-off and rich get richer.”
The 2025 Outstanding Vietnamese Farmers were selected based on four criteria. Among the 63 outstanding farmers, there are 54 male farmers and nine female farmers; including four outstanding farmers representing ethnic minorities. The youngest outstanding farmer is Mr. Nguyen Tung Duong, 25 years old (born in 2000) from Lang Chanh village, Tam Duong Bac commune, Phu Tho province with a model of making golden flower tea and trading seedlings with a profit of 1.2 billion VND/year; the oldest outstanding farmer is Mr. Chu Van Sam, 77 years old (born in 1948) from Dong Danh village, An Nghia commune, Phu Tho province with a model of raising dairy cows and providing business services with a profit of 1.4 billion VND/year.
For the 32 farmers' scientists in 2025, there are 27 male scientists and 5 female scientists. The youngest farmer's scientist: 35 years old (born in 1990) is Mr. Nguyen Khanh Toan, Tay ethnic group from the Center for Science and Technology (Department of Science and Technology of Lang Son province); The oldest scientist: 87 years old (born in 1938) is Professor, Doctor Mai Van Quyen - Chairman of the Science and Technology Council of Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company.
