Program Overview
The 2024 Southeast Asian Football Championship (ASEAN Cup) will take place from December 8, 2024 to January 5, 2025. Vietnam won the championship after defeating Thailand 3-2 in the second leg of the final. Tuyen Quang province is happy and proud to have player Nguyen Thanh Chung, a native of Tuyen Quang, as a member of the Vietnam National Men's Football Team.

Speaking at the program, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son acknowledged and praised the efforts and outstanding achievements of player Nguyen Thanh Chung who contributed to the Vietnam National Men's Football Team winning the Gold Medal at the ASEAN Cup 2024. The achievements that Thanh Chung and the Team achieved have inspired, encouraged, and motivated the people of Tuyen Quang, especially the young generation, to strive and rise up.
Comrade Nguyen Van Son, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presented a Certificate of Merit to player Nguyen Thanh Chung.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that player Thanh Chung and the national team will continue to promote the winning spirit, continue to contribute to the development of Vietnamese sports and inspire the young generation of the country in general, and Tuyen Quang province in particular, in building and developing the local physical education and sports movement.

At the program, the Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee awarded a Certificate of Merit to player Nguyen Thanh Chung; the Vietnam Youth Union of the province awarded a Certificate of Merit for his outstanding achievements in competing with the National Men's Football Team at the 2024 Southeast Asian Football Championship (ASEAN Cup).

On this occasion, player Nguyen Thanh Chung and representative of Heejoo fashion brand (player Thanh Chung's wife) donated to the program "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province".
Player Nguyen Thanh Chung was born on September 8, 1997, in Trung Mon commune (Yen Son). Possessing an ideal height of 1.82 m, wearing the number 16 shirt in the national team, playing in his favorite position as a central defender. Thanh Chung spent his childhood playing for the Tuyen Quang Children's Football Team, then studied at the Hanoi Sports Gifted High School, the youth training center of the Hanoi T&T Football Club, and participated in the national U19 and U23 teams. Currently, Thanh Chung plays for the Hanoi Club and participates in the Vietnam National Men's Football Team. Thanh Chung participated in the ASEAN Cup 2024 with the Vietnam team and became an indispensable pillar in the defense of the Vietnam team. From the group stage to the semi-finals, Thanh Chung was always the preferred name in the center of the 3-man defense of the Vietnam team. |
