In his opening speech, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong said that this is an art event of special significance, a place to gather and honor young talents and young creativity, while affirming the strong vitality of photography in modern social life.
After 10 years of establishment and development, the Festival has become a prestigious and professional "art playground", attracting a large number of young people with a passion for photography from all over the country. This year, the 6th Festival continues to make its mark with thousands of entries, reflecting diverse perspectives on the country and people of Vietnam in the period of innovation, integration and development.
Photography is a special art form, both a tool to capture moments and a voice of the times. With the power of images, photography helps us connect the past - present - future, contributing to promoting the image of the country and Vietnamese people to the world . In the context of digital transformation and the spread of technology, young people have more opportunities to express their bravery, personality and creativity through photography.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong believes that with their talent, intelligence and constant creativity, the young generation of Vietnamese photographers will continue to reap many successes, actively contributing to the development of the country's photography art, bringing the image of Vietnam closer to international friends.
After 5 successful events in 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2023, the Young Photography Festival has become a prestigious and attractive art "playground", suitable for the interests and needs of young photographers to create and publish works. Through the Festival, the passion for creativity is aroused, encouraging the spirit of serious artistic work of young photographers. This is also an opportunity to connect the young Vietnamese photography community, spreading the love of art, the spirit of learning, innovation and integration.
2025 is the 6th consecutive year that the Youth Photography Festival has been held, in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports of Hanoi City. This year, the Festival continues to receive positive responses from young photographers nationwide, with over 2,000 works (including over 1,800 works in the realism category, 205 works in the conceptual category) by 221 authors from 29 provinces and cities nationwide.
The Art Council selected 124 works (realistic photography: 110 works, conceptual photography: 24 works) by 73 authors to display. Of these, 17 best works were selected for awards (13 realistic photography awards, 04 conceptual photography awards).
Two works won Gold Medals: The photo series “Brightening Green Aspiration” by author Tran Minh Luong, from Can Tho; The photo series “Behind the Score” by author Phan Minh Tho, from Gia Lai.
Three works won Silver Medals: The photo series "Urban Rhythm - The Art of Light and Shape" by author Le Tuan Thanh, from Hanoi; The photo series "Helicopters flying in the sky during the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025)" by author To Chi Hung from Ho Chi Minh City; The photo series "A man swims 100km in 2 days to continue the life of a child" by author Nguyen Van Nam Anh from Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, there are 5 Bronze Medals and 7 Encouragement Prizes.
The works will be on display from August 18 to September 5, 2025, at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam National Special Monument.
