
On the evening of June 26, at the House, Hanoi Capital, the Closing and Awarding Ceremony of the Campaign to compose songs about the National Assembly and People's Councils to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026) took place.
Attending the award ceremony were Politburo members: Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh; Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly, members of the National Assembly Standing Committee, leaders of central departments, ministries and branches.
Also attending were National Assembly delegates, members of the Steering Committee, the Organizing Committee for the 80th Anniversary of the National Assembly of Vietnam, representatives of the Vietnam Musicians Association, artists and representatives of award-winning authors and author groups.

This is the second time the songwriting campaign on the theme of the National Assembly has been organized, following the success of the 2015 campaign on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Vietnamese National Assembly.
The campaign aims to select outstanding musical works, deeply depicting the sacred role and mission of the National Assembly and People's Council in the cause of national liberation, national defense, national construction and development, creating a solid foundation for our country to enter a new era - an era of national prosperity and prosperity.
At the same time, the contest also contributes to improving the quality and effectiveness of information and propaganda work on the activities of elected agencies.

The Judging Council, consisting of famous and prestigious musicians, worked impartially and objectively through two preliminary and final rounds, selecting 33 excellent works for the Organizing Committee to consider awarding prizes.
At the ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man - Head of the Steering Committee for the 80th Anniversary of the First General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam and National Assembly Vice Chairman Tran Quang Phuong - Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the 80th Anniversary of the First General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Campaign to compose songs about the National Assembly and People's Councils presented cups and certificates to 5 authors and groups of authors who won Prize B.
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha presented trophies and certificates to the 9 authors and groups of authors who won Prize C.

Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh and Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Lai Xuan Mon; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai and Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh presented trophies and certificates to 19 authors and groups of authors who won the Encouragement Prize.


Speaking at the award ceremony, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong stated that the campaign to compose songs about the National Assembly and People's Councils is a meaningful activity, part of a series of events celebrating the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam - a historical milestone marking a great turning point in the cause of building and developing the country in general, and building a socialist rule-of-law state in particular.
“The brilliant golden pages of the 80-year history of the Vietnamese National Assembly, along with the strong and vibrant innovations in the activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils in recent times, especially the trust and great expectations of the people, have become a rich source of inspiration for musicians to create beautiful melodies and heroic songs about the National Assembly and People's Councils,” Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong emphasized.
Under the attention and close direction of the National Assembly leaders, the close coordination between the National Assembly Office, the Vietnam Musicians Association and relevant agencies, the contest was implemented methodically and effectively, with many practical activities, attracting a large number of professional and non-professional musicians to participate.

After more than 10 months of launching (from February 27, 2024 to December 10, 2024), the Organizing Committee has received 672 works from nearly 400 musicians from all over the country, demonstrating the deep interest of artists in particular and the entire people in general in the activities of elected agencies. This is also a campaign that received a large number of participating works and was rich in genres compared to other songwriting campaigns in recent times.
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong assessed that the works not only adhered to the theme but were also diverse in musical style with richly visual lyrics, deeply expressing the role of the National Assembly and People's Councils in the cause of building a socialist rule-of-law state of the people, by the people, for the people. The majestic, emotional melodies reflected the people's pride and trust in the Vietnamese National Assembly and its elected representatives.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly also expressed his belief that these songs will create a strong spread in society, live forever in the hearts of voters and people nationwide, and serve as a basis for building and organizing the art program Glory of the Vietnamese National Assembly to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the First General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly.
