AI Awards is an annual award launched by VnExpress from 2022 within the framework of AI4VN, to honor outstanding products, solutions, individuals and businesses in the field of AI.

This year, the award expanded its scope to four main categories: Outstanding Vietnamese AI Solution, Outstanding AI Device, Vietnamese AI Talent and Outstanding AI Enterprise.

Honoring 5 Vietnamese AI Talents

The highlight of this year’s Awards is the new category: Vietnamese AI Talents, which honors individuals under 35 years old who are making outstanding contributions to AI development at home and abroad. The jury has selected the top 5 representatives. That is, Mr. Dao Tuan Trung - Senior Engineer of Machine Learning, Qualcomm AI Research Department.

Born in 1998, he was once the “Outstanding Employee of the Year” at VinAI with many application projects for Vietnamese people such as VinHomes smart apartments, VSmart phones. Currently a senior AI engineer at Qualcomm AI Research, he has had 5 works published at leading AI conferences in 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep – Chief Technology Officer of Filumn.ai. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he led the team to develop a free platform connecting thousands of people with medical experts. Currently, he continues to research and apply AI to practical, sustainable solutions for Vietnamese businesses.

Ms. Nguyen Khanh Linh – Head of AI Department, Obello (San Francisco, USA) and Google Developer Expert on Generative AI. Born in 1991, Ms. Nguyen Khanh Linh is the first Vietnamese woman to be honored by Google in this field. At Obello, she leads the research and development of generative AI technology in global products.

Mr. Bui Duy Quoc Nghi – Director of AI Gen Center,FPT Smart Cloud. Graduated with a PhD in Computer Science from Singapore Management University, he has had more than 40 works published at prestigious conferences and journals. He is currently leading many AI projects with international influence.

Mr. Le Yen Thanh – Founder and General Director of Go Labs Technology JSC. Born in 1994, he is the youngest Executive Committee member of the Vietnam Association of Information Technology, belonging to the new generation of technology enterprises. With the startup GoLabs, he develops the AFC system (automatic toll collection) and ITS products (intelligent transport systems) applying AI in big data analysis, optimizing public transport operations and cashless payments.

Three Outstanding AI Solutions

The Outstanding AI Solution category was selected by the Jury to award the AI credit scoring application - MoMo Financial Technology Group; VNG Cloud AI Stack of VNG Cloud Company; FPT AI Agents of FPT Smart Cloud Company Limited.

According to the Jury, more than 70 Vietnamese AI products competed in the Solution category, but only three best solutions were announced at the award ceremony. All three products were highly appreciated by the Jury in the hottest fields of artificial intelligence today such as finance, virtual assistants, and cloud computing services.

In the category of Outstanding AI Enterprises, the enterprises named in this category include: MoMo Financial Technology Group; GreenNode Joint Stock Company; FPT Smart Cloud Company Limited. The category of Promising AI Enterprises is an award honoring young enterprises with great potential, affirming their position through creativity and breakthroughs in research and application of artificial intelligence.

This year, the award belongs to: Phenikaa-X Joint Stock Company and Filum LLC. The typical AI application education unit is British University Vietnam.

In the category of Outstanding AI Devices, the awards are divided into four groups: Phones, laptops, TVs and cameras. All products must be officially sold in Vietnam in 2025, integrating AI to help users easily access technology in life. Outstanding AI Phone is Oppo Find N5. Outstanding AI Laptop is Gigabyte Aero X16. Outstanding AI TV is LG OLED evo AI G5. Outstanding AI Camera is Ezviz S10 2K+.

Mr. Phung Viet Thang, Country Director of Intel Vietnam, representing the Jury, said: The level of technology that this year's candidates brought is very even, showing that Vietnam's ability to access technology is very good compared to the world. Many products are closely related to practical requirements of life, solving very practical problems of corporate management and finance.
