Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh (middle), Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, President of the Women's Union of Can Tho city, presented gifts and scholarships to orphans in difficult circumstances in Long Binh ward.
The delegation awarded scholarships and gifts to 100 children who lost their parents due to the impact of COVID-19 and other causes and were in difficult circumstances. Each child received a cash scholarship of 1 million VND and milk and cakes worth 300,000 VND.
Implementing the “Godmother” program, the whole city has 200 children being sponsored by the Women’s Union at all levels, agencies, units, and philanthropists. Thereby, timely material and spiritual support is provided to help the children confidently go to school.
The Women's Union of O Mon Ward has just coordinated with Can Tho City Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital to organize a communication session on reproductive health care for women and award Nguyen Thi Dinh scholarships.
Over 100 female cadres and members attending the communication session listened to speakers who were doctors from Can Tho City Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital present and answer questions related to reproductive health care.
On this occasion, the Ward Women's Union awarded 20 Nguyen Thi Dinh scholarships to disadvantaged students in the area. Each scholarship is worth 500,000 VND, from social mobilization funds.
The Women's Union of Luong Tam commune has also coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and the Commune Youth Union to organize the program "Support to go to school", giving 21 gifts to poor students and those in difficult circumstances. Accordingly, each student received an accident insurance card worth 150,000 VND, 15 notebooks, pens... This activity contributes to supporting and creating conditions to help students confidently enter the new school year.
