Awarding scholarships and gifts.

(CT) - On August 27th and 28th, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City and Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Women's Union, organized visits and presented gifts to orphaned children in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival and the opening of the new school year 2025-2026. This is an annual activity under the "Godmother" Program, launched by the Central Vietnam Women's Union.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh (center), Vice Chairperson of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City and Chairperson of the Can Tho City Women's Union, presents gifts and scholarships to orphaned children in difficult circumstances in Long Binh ward.

The delegation awarded scholarships and gifts to 100 orphaned children who lost their parents due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other reasons, and who are in difficult circumstances. Each child received a scholarship of 1 million VND in cash and milk and cakes worth 300,000 VND.

Through the "Godmother Program," 200 children across the city are being sponsored by women's associations at all levels, agencies, organizations, and philanthropists. This provides timely material and spiritual support to help them confidently continue their education.

The Women's Union of O Mon Ward recently collaborated with the Can Tho City Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital to organize a health education session on reproductive health care for women and award the Nguyen Thi Dinh scholarship.

Over 100 female officials and members attended the communication session, where speakers, including doctors from Can Tho City Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, presented and answered questions related to reproductive health care.

On this occasion, the Women's Union of the ward awarded 20 Nguyen Thi Dinh scholarships to disadvantaged students in the area. Each scholarship is worth 500,000 VND, funded through social mobilization.

The Women's Union of Luong Tam commune, in coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Youth Union, recently organized the "Supporting Students to School" program, presenting 21 gifts to poor and disadvantaged students. Each student received an accident insurance card worth 150,000 VND, 15 notebooks, pens, etc. This activity contributes to supporting and creating conditions to help students confidently enter the new school year.
