Joining the Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere in Vietnam, children in the Frankfurt area, Germany also had a meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival last weekend.

With the desire to preserve Vietnamese culture in the community and create a playground for Vietnamese children, the Happy Kids Viet Duc group and parents organized a Mid-Autumn Festival program at the Hoell Hotel on the Main River.

The program was organized with the cooperation of both adults and children and started on the morning of September 23. The children, divided into 3 age groups: "big", "middle" and "little", performed many typical activities of the Mid-Autumn Festival such as preparing fruit trays, making moon cakes, and decorating the stage.

With each activity, adults interweave educational content for children about Vietnamese language and culture. For example, when children create objects from various fruits, teachers also introduce the names of fruits in Vietnamese.

The children were also given the freedom to be creative when performing short plays featuring familiar characters in Vietnamese culture such as Cuoi and Hang. Meanwhile, other children participated in traditional games such as sack jumping, playing with toys, practicing lion dancing, and drumming.

When everything was ready, in the afternoon, nearly 30 children enjoyed a German-style feast of fried chicken and french fries in a lively atmosphere. Activities such as painting lion statues and making tattoos were also enjoyed by many children and their parents.

The Mid-Autumn Festival program organized by the Happy Kids Viet Duc group is not only an occasion for the community to gather, but also an opportunity for Vietnamese children living around Frankfurt to understand their cultural roots and be proud of their national cultural features.
