
At the exam registration procedure, candidates must be present at the examination room, present their citizen identification card or passport and receive their exam card. If they discover any errors in their name, date of birth, priority subjects, or priority areas, they must notify the supervisor or the officer in charge at the exam site for timely handling. In case they cannot come to complete the exam registration procedure, they must notify their teachers or the exam site for instructions. If they cannot report in time, they must arrive early tomorrow morning, June 26, to complete the procedure and receive their exam card.
On the afternoon of June 25, candidates from Hanoi came to complete the exam procedures in quite hot weather. From 12:30, candidates were present at the exam location.
Taking the exam at Yen Nghia Secondary School, Ha Dong, about 7km from home, candidate Tran Lam, a student at Le Quy Don High School, Ha Dong District, was taken to the exam site by his father at 1:30 p.m. to complete the exam procedures. He said he was ready for the exam.
The weather was hot, but many parents waited around the school gate to pick up and drop off their children and encourage their spirits. The parent of candidate Tran Phuong Anh at the Thanh Xuan Trung Secondary School exam site (Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi) said that she had asked for 3 days off work and rented a motel near the exam site so that her child could have more time to rest and be in the best spirits for the exam.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, the whole country has more than 1.1 million candidates registered to take the high school graduation exam in 2025. Of which, the number of grade 12 candidates taking the exam according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program is: 1,122,507 (accounting for 96.33%).
The 2025 high school graduation exam is more special than previous years. This year, the exam has more candidates; it is organized for both students studying under the 2018 General Education Program and students studying under the 2006 General Education Program.

On the morning of June 25, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long and a Government delegation inspected preparations for the 2025 high school graduation exam at the exam site of Hon Gai High School, Quang Ninh province.

Vice Chairwoman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh said that the whole province has 19,930 candidates registered for the exam, an increase of nearly 2,000 candidates compared to last year. The province has arranged 40 exam sites with 849 exam rooms. Independent candidates and continuing education candidates account for at least 50% of the total number of candidates at the exam sites. The province has mobilized about 3,500 people from the education sector, police, health and other relevant agencies to participate in the provincial exam steering committee and exam council.
After inspecting the site and working with relevant agencies, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized the special nature of this year's exam. The exam is being held in the context that the whole country is rearranging and organizing the two-level local government apparatus and changing the arrangement of the inspection agency system; the number of candidates is higher; the exam is organized for both students studying under the 2018 General Education Program and students studying under the 2006 General Education Program.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested that localities need to ensure adequate human resources, material resources, and other necessary conditions for organizing the exam, paying attention to ensuring absolute safety of the exam papers, not allowing any errors to occur; creating the best conditions for candidates, and making good medical preparations.

The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that communication work must be done well. Whenever problems arise at each testing site, they must be handled immediately in a constructive spirit.
Invigilators must help candidates feel comfortable, have the best mindset, and reduce pressure so that they can do their best on the test because "no matter how well prepared they are, it is difficult to avoid nervousness". Invigilators in each exam room try to encourage candidates to maximize their abilities".
The Deputy Prime Minister hopes that everyone will join hands, uphold responsibility, and coordinate closely so that the exam takes place successfully, safely, and with quality.
The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place on June 26 and 27.
Candidates taking the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program: participate in 3 exam sessions, including 1 exam session for Literature, 1 exam session for Mathematics and 1 exam session of an optional test including 2 subjects from the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology (Industry, Agriculture), foreign languages (English, Russian, French, Chinese, German, Japanese and Korean). Candidates will complete the exam on the morning of June 27.
Candidates taking the exam according to the 2006 General Education Program: participate in 4 exam sessions, including 1 Literature exam session, 1 Math exam session, 1 optional Natural Science/Social Science exam session, 1 foreign language exam session. Candidates will complete the exam on the afternoon of June 27.
Previously, on the morning of June 25, the 2025 high school graduation exam testing sites held a meeting with the staff in charge of invigilation at the sites to prepare for the exam.
