Tri Ton is a purely agricultural commune, with a total area of over 7,314 hectares, over 4,983 hectares of rice cultivation, about 1,060 hectares of forest land, and 32 hectares of aquaculture land. These are important factors, creating a foundation for diverse livelihoods for the people. In addition, the commune's population is over 50,000 people, an abundant source of labor for agricultural production and local handicrafts.
Chairman of Tri Ton Commune People's Committee Tran Van Cuong said that the commune has a synchronously invested rural traffic system. Main and intra-field roads are all asphalted and concreted, making it convenient for traffic and transportation of goods.
From the local potentials and strengths, in the first months of 2025, the socio -economic situation of Tri Ton commune recorded many signs of improvement; healthcare and education were given equal attention and development. Total state budget revenue was over 24 billion VND, equal to 72.7% of the annual estimate; the poverty rate decreased to 3.19%. Many policies to support production and social security were effectively implemented, creating motivation for people to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
Besides agriculture, Tri Ton commune also has strengths in tourism development.
Trade and service activities in Tri Ton are developing strongly, serving well the consumption and living needs of the people. In particular, although affected by weather and pests, agricultural production still plays a key role. The total cultivated area reached 99.8% of the plan.
Progressive production models such as: “3 reductions, 3 increases”, “1 must, 5 reductions” have been gradually applied, contributing to increasing profits and reducing costs for farmers. Along with that, many agricultural cooperatives operate effectively: Loc Phat 1 Cooperative, Chau Lang Cooperative, TVP Nui To Organic Cooperative…, helping to link the value chain, improve productivity and product quality.
In particular, Tri Ton commune has 3 products recognized as meeting the national 5-star OCOP standard, including: Palm sugar syrup, palm sugar granules and palm sugar powder of Palmania Joint Stock Company. In addition, 4 other products meet the 3-star OCOP standard. The commune is effectively exploiting the tourism potential from the natural landscape and Khmer culture. Many impressive destinations are known to tourists such as Ta Pa lake, Soai So lake, Ta Pa pagoda, Xvayton pagoda..., along with interesting cultural and sports activities such as hot air balloon festivals, bull racing, paragliding performances... attracting tens of thousands of tourists every year.
From the achieved results, in the coming time, Tri Ton commune will continue to aim for comprehensive economic development, focusing on promoting organic and high-tech agricultural production; focusing on developing the service, trade and tourism sectors.
Specifically, the commune continues to invest in and renovate the market system and points of sale; encourages modern, convenient and civilized business models. At the same time, it supports small traders and business households to access preferential capital sources, expand their scale of operations, and ensure a stable and safe supply of goods, especially at the end of the year and during the Lunar New Year.
“In the immediate future, the locality will improve the quality of accommodation and food services, making community tourism and experiential tourism a key industry in the coming period. The commune continues to focus on connecting OCOP products with tourism. When tourists come to Tri Ton, they not only come to visit the beautiful scenery but also bring back typical products of the mountainous region, creating motivation for businesses and cooperatives to develop, contributing to increasing income for people,” Mr. Tran Van Cuong added.
With synchronous policies, dynamism in management and consensus of the people, Tri Ton is gradually affirming its position as a commune with sustainable and comprehensive development in the Bay Nui region.
