Deploying a model of planting 3 hectares of medicinal plants, Solanum procumbens, in Phu Thien commune

(GLO)- On July 30, Gia Lai Provincial Agricultural Extension Center coordinated with Phu Thien Commune authorities to hand over materials for a model of growing medicinal plants, Solanum procumbens, to Duc Thanh Dat Agricultural Service Cooperative.

Accordingly, the demonstration model of growing medicinal plants Solanum procumbens was deployed on a scale of 3 hectares with the participation of 6 member households of Duc Thanh Dat Agricultural Service Cooperative (Ia Ptau village, Phu Thien commune).

In addition to technical support for pest control, the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center also provides materials, fertilizers, pesticides, and seedlings to members participating in the model with a total cost of nearly 1 billion VND.

It is known that Duc Thanh Dat Agricultural Service Cooperative is implementing a model of growing medicinal Sophora japonica flowers on an area of ​​10 hectares. The Cooperative's Sophora japonica tea product has achieved 3-star OCOP certification at the district level in 2025.

Promoting the medicinal plant growing model has opened up a new direction in transforming the crop structure on difficult land; thereby increasing farmers' income as well as promoting local socio-economic development.
