Exhibition delegates

Photographer MPK, whose real name is Nguyen Van Phuoc, was born and raised in Da Lat, and is attached to and loves Da Lat like his own flesh and blood. Immersing himself in the vast plateau, with its grass, trees, and flowers, artist MPK wanders across mountains, hills, and slopes to record what he sees and feels. He directs his lens to the corners of life with his own ideas.

MPK's photography is beautiful and strange, wild and abstract, both familiar and distant. The subjects in MPK's photos are almost limitless, everything around us: grass, leaves, insects, dew drops, sprouts, rustling pine trees, cool streams, moon, wind, falling rain... all come into the photos to create beautiful moments.

Photographer Duong Quang Tin - Head of the Photography Association, Lam Dong Literature and Arts Association highly appreciated the exhibition.

Since 1993, 31 years, artist MPK has had more than 38 solo exhibitions that few photographers in the country have achieved. MPK's exhibitions from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City have created an MPK brand associated with the Dalat brand. Particularly at Dalat Cadasa Resort, this is the 4th exhibition; before that were the exhibitions: Ua, Thit, Mat kim kim.

Photographer MPK shares his exhibition ideas

Dalat possesses many cultural heritages, of which ancient villas are typical material heritages that have been a source of artistic inspiration for many generations. With this exhibition "House", artist MPK introduces to the public 99 photos of ancient villas in Dalat with a long history and a wide space. These are works that record and preserve beautiful images of ancient villa architecture in Dalat over the artist's 40 years of holding the camera, which is also the same amount of time of ancient houses, old houses, and old architectures left by the French.

Artist MPK reveals the address of each villa he photographed.

Each photo is a photographic work of architectural art, no two are alike, no lines are repeated. Among them are many moss-covered, abandoned villas; there are also many villas that today only exist in photos, no longer present. Through the perspective of a romantic, MPK's villa photos are both ancient, simple, familiar, and have great museum value.

Taking the exhibition theme as “Home”, photographer MPK expressed his idea: "We all have a house to live in. Because home is our shelter, to avoid rain, sun, and wind. From more than 500 photo files taken at different times, in the past few days I have selected, selected, and selected 99 photos to present to the public today. Through that process, I realized that we humans want to be perfect just like we are repairing a house. Building a house is the same, building a life, building a family, building a home on the foundation of love to be sustainable, just like building a house should be built on rock to be sustainable, not on sand. I hope we build everything on the foundation of love, so that we can live in happiness".

The exhibition takes place in a beautiful space.

The exhibition evokes in viewers memories and nostalgia for a Da Lat in the past with a rich history. From there, it multiplies in viewers' hearts the love for ancient architectural villas, multiplies the responsibility to preserve the remaining villas as a beautiful souvenir associated with this land.
