Thanh Hoa province has rejoined the club of provinces with revenue exceeding 50,000 billion VND per year, with estimated state budget revenue in 2024 reaching 54,341 billion VND, exceeding the projected target by 52.8% and increasing by 25.9% compared to the same period last year. This figure was reported at the regular meeting of the Provincial People's Committee in November 2024.

Not only did this exceed the plan, but it is also the highest revenue figure ever achieved by Thanh Hoa province. This figure makes Thanh Hoa the leading province in the North Central region and among the top 10 localities with the highest budget revenue in the country in 2024.

Two years ago, Thanh Hoa province also achieved a budget revenue of over 50,000 billion VND after many years of continuous growth, making it the first province to join the club of provinces and cities with budget revenue exceeding 50,000 billion VND.

However, that joy did not last long. In 2023, due to the negative impact of declining revenue from several sources, Thanh Hoa had to leave this prestigious club.

But then, in just one year, with a great deal of effort, Thanh Hoa province returned to a higher figure. This is a very proud achievement, a new milestone that the province has set.

Compared to many other provinces, Thanh Hoa's industrial infrastructure is arguably less developed, and some production sectors still face difficulties. Especially in 2024, natural disasters devastated many localities in the province, negatively impacting several economic sectors and posing a "test" of our capacity and determination. However, revenue remained stable and far exceeded the plan.

The budget revenue figures achieved in 2024 are a vivid manifestation reflecting the great efforts and endeavors of the province, its functional agencies, the business community, and the people of the province. In particular, the tax and customs sectors have implemented numerous solutions to manage, nurture, and exploit revenue sources, and combat budget revenue losses.

We are pleased with the strong return to revenue collection in the province. However, beyond this joy, the issue is that, in addition to the province's solutions for directing and managing economic development and supporting businesses, functional agencies and localities need to show greater determination, better solutions, and more sustainable approaches to both nurture revenue sources and prevent losses. Only then can we avoid falling behind and gradually achieve higher revenue figures.
