Ensure accommodation for martyrs' relatives
The Martyrs' Reception House has become a familiar address for many families when they return to Quang Tri, including Mrs. Bui Thi Hong and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi. Every time they visit the grave of Mrs. Hong's father, martyr Bui Thanh Nghi (from Nghe An province, died in 1968) at Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery, they choose this place as a stop.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi shared: “Every year when visiting my father’s grave, my family is welcomed and given a very thoughtful place to stay, no longer having to worry about accommodation, saving some costs. The staff at home always welcomes us warmly and thoughtfully, making us feel very warm.”
Every year, Quang Tri welcomes thousands of relatives of martyrs and veterans to pay their respects and visit the martyrs’ graves. Many relatives have come to the Center for Nursing for Meritorious People and the Martyrs’ Cemetery Management of Quang Tri Province to be arranged free accommodation at the Martyrs’ Relatives Reception House during the process of visiting and searching for the graves.
With a scale of 40 rooms, this place can serve about 120 people at the same time. For nearly 30 years, the Reception House for Martyrs’ Relatives has welcomed and served tens of thousands of relatives and families of martyrs to Quang Tri for free. This has truly become a common home, “supporting” relatives of martyrs from all over the country on their journey to offer incense and visit the graves of their loved ones.
Since the beginning of 2025, the unit has received, served and arranged accommodation for 595 delegations with 2,422 relatives of martyrs coming to visit, search for and relocate martyrs' remains. Not only ensuring thoughtful accommodation, the staff of the Reception House also enthusiastically guided directly or by phone about the procedures related to correcting information on tombstones, searching for graves, as well as the regimes for visiting and relocating martyrs' remains.
