China holds large-scale military parade to celebrate 80th anniversary of victory over fascism

According to Al Jazeera, activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory over Japanese fascism in World War II officially took place from 9am on September 3 (local time) in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, with the highlight being a large-scale military parade.

Earlier, at a press conference on August 28, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Hong Lei said that 26 heads of state and foreign leaders will attend China's large-scale military parade today, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Uzbekistani President Shavkat Mirziyoyev,...

Vietnamese President Luong Cuong attended the ceremony and held bilateral activities in China. The President's working trip from September 2 to 4 was at the invitation of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.

It is known that the last time China held a parade to celebrate Victory Day was 10 years ago.

This year's parade is expected to last 70 minutes, include 45 formations, and is organized to simulate real combat scenarios.
