China opens world's first store dedicated to AI robots

China's capital Beijing is planning to open the world's first 4S store dedicated to embodied AI robots, marking a major step forward in the commercialization of advanced robotics technology.

Embodied AI (also known as "embodied AI" or "embodied AI") is a branch of AI that focuses on creating AI systems that can interact with the physical world through a specific form (usually a robot).

These AIs not only exist in the digital world but can also sense, interact, and impact the real world.

According to plan, the above store will be put into operation at the Yizhuang Robot Industrial Park, south of Beijing, within the framework of the World Robot Conference 2025 scheduled to take place from August 8-12.

The 4S robot store model is inspired by the automotive industry, including four main functions: Sales, service, spare parts and surveys.

The store will provide services for purchasing, maintaining, repairing and replacing components for AI robots, especially humanoid robots. In addition, customers can also experience real-life robot application scenarios through interactive demonstration areas.

At the press conference on June 12, the organizers said that more than 100 businesses in the robot supply chain expressed their desire to join the center, including 30 companies specializing in the production of humanoid robots.

Notably, 10 leading robot companies such as Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, UBTECH and Galaxea have signed cooperation agreements and will be the first to be present at the 4S robot store.

The store will integrate a nationwide component supply system with a team of professional technicians in charge of maintenance and assembly, contributing to the formation of a complete commercial robot ecosystem.

According to Mr. Liang Liang, Deputy Director of the Yichang Industrial Park Management Committee, the establishment of the 4S robot store is “an important breakthrough in building a dynamic robot industrial ecosystem, promoting the development of enterprises in this field and enhancing Yichang's global influence as a robot center.”

The Yizhuang Industrial Park was chosen as the permanent venue for the World Robot Conference. It is home to more than 300 enterprises operating in the fields of robotics and intelligent manufacturing, with an industry chain value of more than 10 billion yuan (equivalent to 1.39 billion USD), accounting for 50% of the total robot industry value in the entire city of Beijing.

Previously, Diec Trang also attracted attention when organizing the world's first half-marathon for humanoid robots, with the participation of 20 teams from universities, research institutes and technology companies.

The Tiangong Ultra robot developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center finished first with a time of 2 hours 40 minutes 42 seconds./.
