China's efforts to build child-friendly cities will contribute to improving the quality of life and building a sustainable future.
Located right in a park in the heart of Beijing, the child-friendly city is a place where children can exercise, breathe fresh air, learn about nature, and play with friends.

Ms. Thach Hue, a resident of Beijing, China, said: "Public playgrounds like this are very beneficial for the development of young children. Therefore, every day after school, I bring my children here to play."
Ms. Thach Hue's daughter shared: "I like playing on the swings and climbing wall here. I have so much fun."
Since 2023, the Beijing government has been actively promoting the construction of a child-friendly city, renovating public spaces, and providing comprehensive childcare and education services, with public kindergarten coverage reaching 94%. Simultaneously, the city has strengthened policies to subsidize childcare, protect children's rights, and ensure a safe environment for their development.

Mr. Li Hongbang, principal of The Family Learning House kindergarten in Beijing, said: "A child-friendly city is reflected in both material and spiritual aspects. Materially, it means creating spaces for children to play and be active. Spiritually, it means finding ways to unlock children's potential so they can become the best versions of themselves."
Along with Beijing, 116 cities across China have now launched pilot programs for child-friendly cities, serving more than 110 million children in urban and rural areas.
