Contributing to sharing the difficulties with fishermen's families, in recent years, Technical Support Center 719, Navy Region 4, has always carried out well the activity "Navy sponsors fishermen's children". Sponsoring and caring for fishermen's children in especially difficult circumstances has been spreading widely in the community, contributing to continuing the dream of going to school, especially in the days when the new school year is approaching.

"The Navy sponsors fishermen's children" is an activity to expand and improve the effectiveness of the program "The Vietnamese Navy is a support for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea"; it is an activity to strengthen the blood relationship between Navy officers and soldiers and our fishermen.

Ho Van Trong's father, Ho Van Sang, is a fisherman who exploits offshore seafood. His mother is a housewife. Her income is unstable, so the family's economy faces many difficulties.

Sharing Trong's situation, the 719 Technical Assurance Center coordinated with the local authorities to sponsor him from August 2023. The Center's commander mobilized resources and supported him with 1 million VND per month. Officers and soldiers of the unit also gave him a bicycle, books, school supplies, clothes, shoes, etc. to help him go to school.

Since being sponsored by the Center, Trong has not only received financial support for his studies and medical care, but more importantly, he has had more spiritual support. He has always been encouraged, visited, and cared for by the leaders, officers, and soldiers of the 719 Technical Assurance Center like a family member.

Talking about his studies, Trong excitedly said: "This year I continue to be an excellent student. I will try to study well to grow up and become a Navy soldier like my foster fathers at Technical Support Center 719".

Colonel Nguyen Van Quang, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the Center, said: "We have decided to sponsor the children starting from 2023 until they are 18 years old so that they have the conditions to study and grow up.

Together with the local Party Committee and government, we have called on officers and soldiers in the entire Center to contribute and support the children of fishermen with especially difficult conditions, helping them stabilize their lives and strive to study and improve. Through this activity, we can help our fishermen continue to confidently go out to sea."

Sponsoring fishermen's children does not stop at helping fishermen's children have the conditions to study with peace of mind, but also aims at the cooperation of the whole community so that no fishermen are left behind, helping fishermen feel secure going out to sea, sticking to the sea, contributing to protecting the sovereignty of the homeland's sea and islands.
