TPO - Ho Chi Minh City National University has just started construction of the Center for Advanced Research and Innovation (Center) at NC2.2 land, Research Institute Area 2, Dong Hoa Ward, Di An City, Binh Duong Province, worth 3,100 billion VND.

The center is built on a 4.65 hectare land area, with a prime location with two sides overlooking the lake. The project consists of 6 floors above ground and 1 basement, with a total floor area of up to 42,000 m², and a construction cost of 700 billion VND from a loan from the World Bank.

This is the first project to be built in the HCM City National University Urban Area after many years without any new construction due to legal procedures.

The center will be home to advanced laboratories such as: National Semiconductor Laboratory, with an investment of about 2,000 billion VND; Laboratory system applying biotechnology to production and life, with an investment of about 320 billion VND; Ho Chi Minh City National University Data Center, with an investment of about 100 billion VND.

In addition, the system of experimental production workshops and R&D centers cooperating with enterprises of VNU-HCM are also located at the Center.

With this investment, the Center for Advanced Research and Innovation is not only a simple scientific project but also a place to connect research, businesses and the community, promoting the application of science and technology to socio -economic development. VNU-HCM hopes to soon develop the National Innovation Center at VNU-HCM as a facility of the National Innovation Center in the Southeast region.

There are also shared support service areas such as: halls, offices, meeting rooms and other facilities, meeting the living and working needs of scientists.

Director of VNU-HCM Vu Hai Quan said that the Center for Advanced Research and Innovation is not just a simple scientific project but a place to connect research, businesses and the community, promoting the application of science and technology to socio-economic development. VNU-HCM hopes to soon develop the National Innovation Center at VNU-HCM as a facility of the National Innovation Center in the Southeast region.

It is expected that VNU-HCM will start construction of YB1, YB2, YB3 buildings of the University of Health Sciences in early 2025 with a total investment of about 500 billion VND.
