In Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, DCH Construction Investment Joint Stock Company has just announced the commencement of the Digital Hub data center construction project.

This is not only a significant step forward in the development of information technology in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, but also a driving force promoting the national digital transformation strategy in line with the Government's orientation on developing an international submarine fiber optic cable system, aiming to form a dynamic zone for information technology and digital technology industries, attracting investment in electronic products, Internet of Things products, and artificial intelligence.

Construction of a data center costing over 35 trillion VND.

Decision 1629/QD-TTg dated December 16, 2023, on the planning of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, emphasized the development of infrastructure and information and communication services to better serve the production and living needs of people and businesses. By 2030, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province aims to basically complete digital transformation, develop smart cities, e-commerce, and ensure information security; develop big data infrastructure, artificial intelligence, information technology, and telecommunications…

According to Do Huu Hien, Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, developing a regional data center (HUB) and forming a dynamic zone for information technology and digital technology industries, attracting investment in the production of electrical and electronic products, internet products, artificial intelligence, etc., will contribute to realizing the goal.

According to DCH Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, with a total investment of up to 35 trillion VND, the Digital Hub Data Center is expected to become the largest data center in Vietnam and the region. The center is designed according to the international standard TIA-942-C Rated 4, the highest standard currently in Vietnam. The project will play a crucial role in connecting and transferring data globally, supporting businesses in managing and expanding their international operations.

In particular, with a total capacity of up to 100MW, the Digital Hub will provide massive data storage capabilities, meeting the growing needs of global businesses and organizations. It will become an advanced research facility in the fields of artificial intelligence and cloud computing, creating groundbreaking technological solutions and supporting digital transformation. Furthermore, the project will also build a disaster prevention and recovery system to protect and restore data operations in emergency situations.

Taking sustainable development as the foundation

The launch of the Digital HUB project marks a new milestone for DCH Construction Investment Joint Stock Company in providing modern technology infrastructure. Digital HUB aims to build a diverse ecosystem to support a strong and advanced information technology infrastructure, serving as a driving force for the national digital transformation strategy as directed by the Government .

DCH Construction Investment Joint Stock Company shared that, to meet all criteria according to the ANSI/TIA-942-C Rated 4 standard - the highest level of certification, the Digital HUB data center had to go through many evaluation processes, including requirements related to telecommunications, electricity, architecture, and mechanics. All components of the data center were evaluated according to proper operating procedures to minimize risks, business disruption, and protect customer data.

One of the key highlights of Digital HUB is that, in addition to creating over 20,000 jobs, the project also focuses on attracting foreign experts to work and training high-quality personnel to serve the project's needs as well as supplementing the workforce with internationally qualified personnel in the field of data center management and operation in Vietnam.

Accordingly, the project will build a diverse ecosystem and support advanced information technology infrastructure, contributing to sustainable development and enhancing the province's position in the high-tech sector in the context of globalization and digital transformation, with a GDP increase of $1.6 billion for the province and generating budget revenue of $50-100 million per year.

The TIA-942-C Rated 4 Digital Hub data center is built on an area of ​​100 hectares, comprising 5 data center halls, each with a total capacity of 20MW. The total capacity of all 5 data center halls reaches 6,000 equipment racks with an average capacity of 15kW/rack. The total investment is $1.2 billion, divided into two main phases: Phase 1: 2025 - 2028; Phase 2: 2028 onwards.

ANSI/TIA-942-C Rated 4 Constructed Facilities certification is issued by Enterprise Products Integration Pte Ltd (EPI), the world's leading independent assessment and certification body for ANSI/TIA-942. This certification pertains to the construction and operation of data centers, and is part of the ANSI/TIA-942 standard set issued by the Telecommunications Industry Association of the United States.
