In Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, DCH Construction Investment Joint Stock Company has just announced the launch of the Digital Hub Data Center construction project.

This is not only an important step forward in the development of information technology in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province but also a driving force to promote the national digital transformation strategy according to the Government's orientation on developing the international submarine optical cable system, aiming to form a dynamic area of ​​information technology and digital technology industry, attracting investment in electronic products, Internet of Things products, and artificial intelligence.

Building a data center of more than 35 trillion VND

Decision 1629/QD-TTg dated December 16, 2023 on the planning of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, emphasized the development of infrastructure, information and communication services to better serve the production and living needs of people and businesses. By 2030, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province will basically complete digital transformation, develop smart cities, e-commerce and ensure information security; develop big data infrastructure, artificial intelligence, information technology, telecommunications, etc.

Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province Do Huu Hien emphasized that the development of a regional data center (HUB) and the formation of a dynamic area for the information technology and digital technology industry, attracting investment in the production of electrical and electronic products, internet products, artificial intelligence... will contribute to realizing the goal.

According to DCH Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, with a total investment of up to 35 trillion VND, the Digital Hub Data Center is expected to become the largest data center in Vietnam and the region. The center is designed according to international standards TIA-942-C Rated 4, the highest standard currently in Vietnam. The project will play an important role in connecting and circulating global data, supporting businesses in managing and expanding international operations.

In particular, with a total capacity of up to 100MW, the Digital Hub will provide massive data storage capacity, meeting the growing needs of global businesses and organizations. It will become an advanced research facility in the fields of artificial intelligence and cloud computing, creating breakthrough technology solutions and supporting the digital transformation process. Not stopping there, the project also builds a disaster prevention and recovery system to protect and restore data operations in emergency situations.

Take sustainable development as the foundation

The launch of the Digital HUB project will mark a new step forward for DCH Construction Investment Joint Stock Company in providing modern technology infrastructure. Digital HUB aims to build a diverse ecosystem to support strong and advanced information technology infrastructure as a driving force to promote the national digital transformation strategy according to the Government 's direction.

DCH Construction Investment Joint Stock Company shared that to meet all the criteria according to ANSI/TIA-942-C Rated 4 - the highest level of certification, Digital HUB Data Center must undergo many assessment processes, including requirements related to telecommunications, electricity, architecture, and mechanics. All components of the data center are assessed according to the correct operating procedures to minimize risks, business interruptions, and protect customer data.

One of the important highlights of Digital HUB is that in addition to creating more than 20 thousand jobs, the project also focuses on attracting foreign experts to work and train high-quality human resources, serving the needs of the project as well as adding to the human resources that meet international standards in the field of data center management and operation in Vietnam.

Accordingly, the Project will build a diverse ecosystem and support advanced information technology infrastructure, contributing to sustainable development and enhancing the province's position in the high-tech sector in the context of globalization and digital transformation with a GDP for the province of 1.6 billion USD, creating a budget revenue stream of 50 - 100 million USD/year.

The TIA-942-C Rated 4 Digital Hub Data Center is built on an area of ​​100 hectares, including 5 data center buildings (Data Center Hall), the total capacity of each Data Center Hall is 20MW, the total capacity of all 05 DC Halls is up to 6,000 equipment cabinets (racks) with an average capacity of 15kW/rack. The total investment is 1.2 billion USD, including 2 main phases: phase 1: 2025 - 2028; phase 2: 2028 onwards.

ANSI/TIA-942-C Rated 4 Constructed Facilities is issued by Enterprise Products Integration Pte Ltd (EPI) - the world's No. 1 independent assessment and certification organization for ANSI/TIA-942. This is a certificate on the construction and operation of Data Centers, belonging to the ANSI/TIA-942 standard set issued by the Telecommunications Industry Association of the United States.
