The workshop aimed to share the potential, advantages, preferential policies and investment cooperation opportunities in concentrated digital technology zones, digital economic development strategies and innovation in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the Department of Information Technology Industry, currently, the country has 8 concentrated digital technology zones established in Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Can Tho. These are functional zones, focusing on research and development activities, training, promoting innovation, technology incubation, production and trading of digital technology products...
Since 2013, Vietnam has laid the first brick for a concentrated digital technology park system. Up to now, there have been more than 630 digital technology enterprises operating, with a growth rate of over 20%, and 42,450 high-quality workers, double that of 2013.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Lich, Director of the Department of Information Technology Industry (Ministry of Science and Technology), said that the development of concentrated digital technology zones aims to create spaces for innovation, optimal environments and ideal ecosystems for digital technology enterprises to operate. In addition, it also promotes innovation, startups, and the application of digital technology achievements in all aspects of life, contributing to national growth.
“In the concentrated digital technology zone, businesses will be able to use shared digital infrastructure (cloud, data center, lab, supercomputer) at the lowest cost, even free of charge. In addition, businesses will enjoy special preferential mechanisms and policies and work in the most optimal and effective environment. The Ministry of Science and Technology will work with localities to perfect mechanisms, models and connect ecosystems to develop concentrated digital technology zones in a sustainable and effective direction,” Mr. Nguyen Khac Lich emphasized.

Mr. Phan Phuong Tung, Director of DXCenter (QTSC) affirmed the key role of synchronous infrastructure, convenient procedures, complete shared services and high-quality human resources in attracting international technology corporations.
According to Mr. Phan Phuong Tung, the new development orientation of QTSC is towards the model of "Digital technology park - green, smart city", focusing on building a comprehensive ecosystem and developing cutting-edge, breakthrough technologies such as: digital infrastructure, cloud computing, big data, network security, digital human resources... contributing to promoting the digital transformation process and developing the digital economy of the city.

At the workshop, Saigon Real Estate Corporation shared a presentation on the urban technology complex model; Becamex Industrial Investment and Development Group shared about the Semiconductor Industry and Innovation Center. In the technology exhibition area, the organizers introduced a number of solutions on digital transformation, data center infrastructure, AI, IoT, information security, smart cities, etc.
On June 14, 2025, the 15th National Assembly issued the Law on Digital Technology Industry (71/2025/QH15) on the formation of concentrated digital technology zones, overcoming the existing shortcomings of the previous concentrated information technology zone model. Accordingly, the new law decentralizes the provincial People's Committee to decide on the establishment and expansion of concentrated digital technology zones, promulgate preferential policies, regulations on management and operation, etc. Thereby, creating momentum for the digital technology zones to develop strongly in the coming time, as essential infrastructure for the Vietnamese digital technology industry.
