Building a nationwide synchronized traffic monitoring data center system

On December 4, the Ministry of Public Security held a conference to deploy key projects in the field of ensuring traffic order and safety. Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Lam, Deputy Minister of Public Security chaired the conference. The conference was attended by leaders of professional departments and police of 34 provinces and cities across the country.

The conference focused on implementing three major project groups including planning data centers, managing, monitoring and handling traffic violations and operating traffic; curbing and reducing traffic accidents according to the functions and tasks of the People's Public Security force; investing in building ports and wharves and equipping patrol vehicles for the Waterway Police force.

The report at the conference showed that the construction of a data center system, monitoring and operating traffic will be deployed uniformly and synchronously nationwide, operating 24/7, applying modern technology and artificial intelligence to improve the effectiveness of ensuring traffic order and safety, reforming administrative procedures and gradually fundamentally changing the operation method of the Traffic Police force. At the same time, creating a breakthrough in ensuring traffic order and safety, striving to reduce traffic accidents sustainably every year on all three criteria, strictly controlling particularly serious accidents, promoting the application of science and technology, building a Traffic Police force with modern qualifications and skills.

In the waterway sector, the Ministry of Public Security focuses on synchronous investment in the system of ports, wharves, technical infrastructure and specialized patrol equipment, contributing to improving the capacity to prevent and fight crime, ensure security, order and rescue on inland and coastal waterways.

At the conference, representatives of local police discussed and raised difficulties, obstacles and recommendations during the implementation process. Leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and functional units directly answered and clarified issues related to organizational structure, investment roadmap, coordination mechanism and implementation responsibilities.

In his concluding remarks, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam emphasized the need to ensure unity and synchronization in the implementation of the projects, avoiding fragmentation and waste; associated with the goal of building a regular, elite, and modern Traffic Police force; enhancing the responsibility of leaders and each level and unit, aiming at the highest goal of reducing traffic accidents, ensuring sustainable traffic order and safety.
